A play on an earlier thread which posted about new civs in a hypothetical pack beyond the NFP, what other types of content would you like to see?
Of course, note that this doesn't include the usual bug fixes, AI improvements, reworks, or balance changes. The question specifically relates to new content you'd like to see the game have if it were to have another season pack.

Personally, I'd scrap the fantasy setting and optional game modes for the future. Give five or so new features to be integrated into the main game. It would be playable with any combination of the five

A plague mode. Kinda like the scenario for the Black Death but much less fatal and maybe more variety on what the plague does. Maybe plague doctors from maybe feudalism and researching sanitation would unlock actual doctors to better fight the sickness. Though I can imagine this could get very annoying because plagues kinda happen at random.

I want them to fix the game after so many years. Adding new stuff that doesn't work as supposed to is easy milking.

That's the only wish I have.

This. A lot of fun stuff has been added, but the late-game has been become more and more of a drag ever since R&F released. Power consumption is just more clicks, loyalty mostly means more clicks, everything is just more clicks to change numbers. I love the game, but I wish there were more meaningful (or seemingly meaningful) interactions with the world and players. I'd say fix bugs, fix balance and AI, give us access to modding files, finish the world builder (!).

Then, when that's done, I like to see the following:
Simple flavour events like in Stellaris or Endless Legend could give such a great illusion of interaction. You dug up an artifact that used to belong to Germany, do you return it to gain political clout (30 favour and Germany will like you more) or keep it for yourself (+1 tourism, Germany will like you less and be more inclined to block your proposals in world congress).
Civ VI works more and more like a board game, but it forgot that the best board games give great interaction between players besides just "having higher numbers" and these board games (like Scythe, Eldritch Horror) have amazing atmosphere because of the lore and flavour.

Can't see what has been a really popular feature being scrapped, maybe with an NFP Season 2 there can be work done so they feel more a integrated part of the game when they are switched on?

I'd like to see a few more persona packs, these were a really interesting twist on the alternative leaders idea.

Well I have a whole list of ideas. I've kind of separated them into a hypothetical second season pass:

Pack 1: Iroquois and Navajo Pack- Nomadic Start game mode (similar to how Humankind is doing there beginning of the game by making a whole new era at the start of the game), World Wonders (Mt. Rushmore, Hoover Dam), New City-States: Mesa Verde (Scientific), Sheet'ka (Cultural), Luxembourg (Industrial), Dubai (Trade), Lhasa (Religious), Port Royal (Militaristic).

Pack 2: Haiti Pack- Colonization and Revolution game mode (Can establish cities on another continent as a "colony" by settling or conquering, which acts more independent but yields go straight to your capital instead of that city. Those cities have more of a likely chance to rebel and start a new kind of Cassus Belli "Revolutionary War".), Americas Map and Americas TSL Map as well as a Colonization Map and Colonization TSL Map.

Pack 3: Akhenaten and Berbers Pack- Akhenaten as a new leader for Egypt, along with a Schism and Reformation game mode (can "create" a new religion out of an existing one if you haven't found one), three new religious buildings: (Mandir (3 faith and 2 gold), Miào (Confucian Temple with provides 3 faith and +2 Loyalty, +2 culture if base game), Honden ( +3 faith and +1 Appeal to surrounding tiles), and reworked Great Prophets with each one having a separate charge for an ability in addition to founding a religion, New Religions: Jainism and Tengrism, Africa Map and Africa TSL Map.

Pack 4: Assyria Pack- Ethnicity and Cultural Identity game mode (Assigns each citizen in a city an ethnicity. Citizens that have a majority ethnicity in a city are more likely to be culturally dominant and if in a foreign civilization will cause more international tourists to travel to "home" civilization), Middle East Map and Middle East TSL Map

Pack 5: Austria and Italy Pack- Pandemic Game mode with GS rules (Comes with disease as a new natural disaster, Medical Facility district and Apothecary, Hospital, Health Clinic buildings, and Pandemic Emergency), Multiple new buildings for districts with most being mutually exclusive to others: Opera House, Caravanserai, Biological Research Lab, Chemical Research Lab, Physics Research Lab, International Terminal, Cargo Port, Naval Base, Public School, Cinema, Police Station, Circus etc., World Wonders (Notre Dame, The Louvre), Turku replaces Bologna city-state, Kiev replaces Venice city-state.

Pack 6: Siam Pack- Ideology game mode (Ideologies can be a late game agenda depending on governments chosen), Kuala Lumpur replaces Ayutthaya city-state, Natural Wonders (Krakatoa, Mt. Fuji, Shangri-La?).

After the latest Free Update patch, and because the Game is still very popular and too early for Civ VII , a second NFP is very likely. Although, I doubt it would have the same content quantity as NFP, I think 3 to 4 DLCs are the max we can get.

So my Ideal content I would like to see are (similar to @Alexander's Hetaroi 's ):
    - Iroquois/Navajo and Island Pack - Colonisation and Vassalization Game Mode (Requires RnF or GS (Loyalty Systeme))*.
    - Berbers and Alt-Egypt Leader (Ramsses II or Hatshepsut) Pack - Currency Game Mode (for Late Game, Civs can borrow Gold from each other + Global Resource Market)
    - Burma/Siam and Oman Pack - Ideology Game Mode (Requires RnF or GS (Loyalty Systeme))*.
    - Italian League/Austria - Rise of Nations Mode (dynamic CSs that can turn into Major Civs + Revolutions (Major Civs could split up and create new Civs(or CSs) + International Organisations (UN))) (Requires RnF or GS (Loyalty Systeme))*.

    * Would be a waste of opportunity if those New Mechanisms didn't make use of the (often useless) Loyalty Systeme, and it would make them more interactive with the game's mechanisms.

If the DLCs would, just like in NFP, include free Updates between each DLC, then I would like to have reworks of existing Systems instead of new Content:
    - Rework of Luxury and Bonus Resources, especially the Amenities Systeme. (EDIT: + Reworking Specialists (or just including Effects from Policies/Pantheons/Abilities...etc that increase the yields of specialists))
    - Reworking Religion.
    - Rework of WC and improving Diplomacy.
    - Balance Everything.

I explained the civs and the leaders in the hypothetical civs and leaders thread.

That's my ideal wishlist but I do think 3 or 4 packs are more reasonable as to what we would actually get. Hard for me to say which ones I would want more but I'd have to go with at least Iroquois and Navajo, Berbers and Egyptian leader and the Italy and Austria pack. I'd compromise part of the Haiti pack, including the maps, and Haiti itself going with the Iroquois.

I'd like more TSL maps - one for each region, so an Africa, Americas, the Levant and then do something with Oceana, is its not already in the Asia map we already have. They could do each pack centered around each area, with 3 or 4 civs or so from that area and maybe a European civ thrown in each one. It would help rebalance the distribution and give us more variety. I'd also like to see more scripts - a more desert based one, a rainforest one, one based on rivers (does wetlands cover that or no?), I'd also like really small islands, the current ones are all based on a few quite large islands with a few small ones. I'd like a map where there are lots of tiny islands, barely large enough for a proper city. Give the naval civs something to really sink their teeth into. I'd also like a rework of Victories.

If they did that, I'd be sold instantly.

How would an Oceania map work with only 2 or 3 civs (if Indonesia counts)?
I'd like a Colonization Map where you have the all of the Americas and the Western Coast of Europe (well England, France, Portugal, Spain, and the Netherlands). :mischief:
Though I guess on TSL Gaul and Germany might have to make it too.

That's why I was wondering if it was on the Asia map. Maybe an expanded Asia/Oceana map or something. I'd just like the map, even if no TSL in the purest sense.
A colonisation map would be really cool.

Australia and the Maori aren't on it. Well the top of Australia, the island, is but not the civ.

Maybe make it a Pacific Ocean Map similar to how a Colonization Map would really mainly be an Atlantic Ocean Map?

You mean a Pacific Rim map?
    ...Will there be Kaiju?
More seriously, that would be a good map in my book.

I get that, and I agree. Really, I do. But not only do I think this will never happen, it's not the topic of this thread.

To clarify, I didn't mean to scrap the content that has already been released. I meant to scrap the idea of optional Game Modes for a new season of content. To integrate any new content into the base game directly.

I like the NFP. I like that they give you flavour; that they allow you to opt in if you like or sit it out if it's not for you, while also giving new changes to the base game with new civs, wonders, units, districts etc... I think the NFP has been a success, both for the devs and the franchise as a whole

LOVELY! There's almost nothing I don't like here.
Let me think... maybe replacing British Museum with the Louvre, and including a Natural Wonder from the heart of Africa (Lake Victoria or Mosi-oa-Tunya).
But those are just details, excellent suggestions.

I could see that. Maybe have a 'Maps Pack' giving you maps for different regions:

    - Southeast Asia and Oceania. Could include khmer and Vietnam, as well as India together with Indonesia, Australia, and Maori

    - Pacific Ocean. Japan, Korea, China, Mongols and Khmer on one side. Canada, Cree, America, Maya, and Aztecs on the other side. Vast ocean in-between.
If you like you could even include South America with Indonesia, Australia, and Maori.

    - Arabia and Mesopotamia. Map of the Middle East.

    - Africa.

    - North America.

    - Caribbean and Central America.

    - South America.

    - Harshlands. Maps with very high production, but very few food sources. You get a random roll between 'hot' (Desert/Plains) and 'cold' (Tundra/Snow).

    - Prairie/Plateau. No hills anywhere! Lots of woods and jungle, but stretches of open Grasslands for movement (Grassland tiles to avoid too many Droughts).

You could even integrate new Civs from each region as part of the pack.

That's what I thought you meant - can't see it happening. I do agree that better integration when switched on would be good.

The Louvre would work too as long as it can hold artifacts and maybe grant a free archaeologist when built. The reason why I picked the British Museum is because we currently only have a museum wonder that holds art but I guess technically the Louvre could hold three of each (art and artifacts). :)

    I would love this!
Apart from the maps you mentioned I would really like another western Europe map. Especially the western part of europe is so small on any other TSL map (well its accurate compared to all the other areas of the world but its not much fun to play) that it needs its own map. Maybe stop after poland/hungary/greece/sweden and make spain/greece{portugal the southern end of the map.
Also a whole asia map would be nice, include basically all of russia and everything south from it up to indonesia.

I know I put down a list of new buildings already but here's a more in depth look at what I would like to see:

Opera House ( unlocks at Opera and Ballet and mutually exclusive with the Broadcast Center): Grants +4 Culture, 1 Great Work of Writing Slot and 2 Great work of Music Slots. +2 Great Musician Point Per Turn,+1 Great Writer Points per turn and +1 Citizen Slot.
Tourism from Rock band concerts goes directly into Broadcast Centers now and are needed to purchase them.

Caravanserai (mutually exclusive with Market): Grants +2 trade route capacity and +1 Citizen Slot, +1 Great Merchant point per Turn.

    Research Lab Split (GS only):
Biological Research Lab- +1 Science for every Rainforest, Marsh, Reef, and Geothermal Fissure in city. +1 Citizen Slot, +1 Great Scientist Point Per Turn.
Chemistry Research Lab- +1 Science for every mineable or strategic resource in city. +1 Citizen Slot, +1 Great Scientist Point Per Turn.
Physics Research Lab- +1 Science for every source of power. +1 Citizen Slot, +1 Great Scientist Point Per Turn.

Neighborhood Buildings (mutually exclusive with Food Market and Shopping Mall, 1 building per district):
Public School- Yields 0.5 Science and 0.5 Culture for every population in city.
Police Station- Protects this district and surrounding districts from spies.
Fire Station- Protects this district and surrounding districts from natural disasters.

Circus (mutually exclusive with Zoo): +1 Amenity for every city center within 4 tiles of EC with Circus. +1 Culture to all Camps and Pastures in the city.

    Sea Port Split:
Naval Base- Fleet and Armada Training, 25% Combat experience for naval units, +2 Production for every Coastal Tile, +2 Science, +1 Housing, +1 Great Admiral Point Per turn, +1 Citizen Slot.
Cargo Port- Grant a trade route capacity. +2 Gold for every coastal tile, +2 food, +1 Admiral Point per turn. Three product slots when Corporations mode is on,+1 Citizen Slot.

International Terminal (Tier 3 building in Aerodrome at Advanced Flight): Does not need open borders or an international trade route to get tourism modifiers from other civs.
