Introducing the new leader, Edward Teach!

Game guide is here: https://civilization.2k.com/civ-vii/game-guide/leaders/edward-teach/

Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, was an English pirate whose name sparked dread in the captains of the Caribbean. In 1716, he joined the crew of Benjamin Hornigold, a leader of the Flying Gang, and quickly gained his own ships. With his impressive height, his long beard (decorated with, at times, lit fuses), and reputation for violence, he stalked the sea-lanes of the Caribbean and the nightmares of sailors. He outlived the Flying Gang and moved his operation to the Outer Banks of present-day North Carolina, where a pirate hunter, Robert Maynard, finally caught up with him.

Look, yes it’s not a “high priority” civ or leader but we’ve already got precedence with “single leader short lived civs” like Gran Colombia

And also this looks so freaking fun to play

I can't see much of a middle ground on whether you like him or not. I'm falling extremely hard on the not.

And looks like the spoilers were 100% on the money. Which feels quite disappointing. None of what was spoiled got my juices flowing.

His abilities don't particularly intrigue me, but I think he will make for a fun antagonist.

Even if I’m not planning on being militaristic, it would be nice to be able to sail through other civ’s territory without needing open borders. That’ll save a bit of Influence for other uses.

This sounds so fun, I love the pirate mechanic. Most civs will have it with the Privateer if I understand correctly, but here your entire navy can take advantage, and in every age.

We're all saying he'll be fun to play against assuming the AI will actually use his abilities. My expectation is for him to be like Lakshmibai and effectively be blank in the hands of the AI as they don't do anything with him.
