Introducing Lafayette! Gilbert du Motier, the Marquis de Lafayette, made his mark on two continents, leading troops in the American Revolution, and being a voice of reason in France, between the twin horrors of autocracy and revolutionary retribution. While his legacy is impressive, his most skillful feat may simply be survival at the center of some of the greatest tumult of his time.

Agenda:
French Quarters: Increase Relationship by a Small Amount for the player with the most Urban Districts with all Building slots filled. Decrease Relationship by a Small Amount for the player with the least Urban Districts.

Starting Biases:
Coast

Attributes:
Cultural
Diplomatic

Unique Ability:
Hero of Two Worlds: Gains a Unique Endeavor called 'Reform,' which grants an additional Social Policy slot. Supporting this Endeavor also grants the other Leader an additional Social Policy slot. Increased Combat Strength for every Tradition, but not Policy, slotted in the Government. Increased Culture and Happiness per Age in Settlements. These effects are increased further in Distant Lands.

He was, apparently, also briefly involved in the Haitian Revolution.

I know he's being pitched as a French leader...but this feels like "American Leader Who Is Not A President No. 3." Would honestly have preferred Casimir Pulaski in that role. :coffee: Mechanically, I like him, though. I am very amused that the French theme sounds like a mash-up of "La Marseillaise" and a French indie film score.

I’m going to choose to associate him with France rather than say we have a third American-adjacent leader :crazyeye:
Even then that'd be our third French leader if you count both Napoleon personas as seperate!

French quarter spotted! Those were indeed their unique buildings then.

Love the choice and I love his ability. He's definitely going to compete with Machiavelli for my favorite leader

France is more deserving of three leaders than America, if I were to count personas separately (which I don’t).
TBH neither would make my "top 15 civs deserving three leaders" list. (Two French leaders--one post-Revolution and one Ancien Regime--would be very reasonable. But maybe not in the base game.)
