New game 1st in ages

ok this is first time i have played civ4 bts in ages. i used to play on noble never won but more than held my own and i want to challenge my self on this game by playing the difficulty above.

so who should i play as? and on what sort of map for a first prince?(cant remember what is after noble) game?

I tend to be a good builder and i was getting better at warfare before i took my sabbatical.
