New Hampshire GOP says "liberal-voting colliegates too stupid to vote"

Meh. Political parties always think the other is either to stupid or to evil to vote.

I don't see the point of doing this, and it definitely seems like a ploy to prevent liberal victories, but I'm not sure all the facts.

That said, if that's what they're doing, I commend them :mischief:

Sounds unconstitutional - are you sure you wouldn't rather hang someone instead?

He may be right. After all, I voted for Bush when I was young and inexperienced. After my first year of factory work, I vowed undying enmity against the politics of big business. I've voted Democratic ever since.

Amen. I was a conservative Christian three years ago when I started working in the grocery business. Now I'm an atheist with an interest in Trotsky. Good job, corporate America.

We wouldn't want to have young people voting their conscience based on what feels right and what feels wrong. That's naive.

What we want is old people voting to keep as much of their earnings as possible, because the society that made them prosperous requires no maintenance, obviously. That's the enlightened, correct view. Silly liberals and their thinking beyond their own personal finances.

The men (and some women!) from whom the Republicans get much of their guiding, real philosophy didn't particular think these Republicans are capable of voting with true reason. They are not, even the elected leaders, by and large qualified to be Platoian guardians.

I would argue that you probably only thought you were, for if you are a real Christian, you can never turn away.

In any case, I still am a Conservative Christian, and will be until the day I die! Even if I die for it!

But no, that's not how it works I'm afraid.

No true Scotsman fallacy.

No, for apostasy is the mark of the false believer, because a true believer cannot reject Christ. They could think they believed, but they never really did. If they really did, the Spirit would bring them back.

It's a good thing I have you here to tell me how the world works. Tell me again what experience you bring to the table.

The point is inevitably to make people more informed, not to make them vote to "Allow people to keep as much of their earnings as possible" and in any case, allowing people to keep what they earn is a good thing.

Only until?

Then I'll be in Heaven with my Lord Jesus Christ.

Let's not derail the thread, please!

What empty nonsense. If someone believes in Christ, they believe in Christ. Then, if for some reason their faith is shaken, and they become atheist, that doesn't mean their previous belief in Christ didn't count, OR that they still must believe in Christ. What you're talking about is your belief in how the world must be, not how it actually is. The world doesn't conform to your opinions.

It's fine to have opinions, but you seem to have them mistaken for facts.

No one is making anyone vote.

"Allowing people to keep what they earn is a good thing" is also an empty statement which presents the issue as black and white, as if there's no place for taxes at all. It's as meaningless as saying "left is always bad".

I suppose your meaning for the word "Christian" is different than mine. Yours seems to be anyone who claims the title. My definition is actually someone who has the Holy Spirit within them, and someone with the Holy Spirit within them cannot forever turn away.

I think you can interpret it in the light of my other posts.

In other words, a condition you can never know yet nonetheless impose upon people.

Bold words for a Biblical literalist.

How thoroughly exclusive. As if God only shares his blessings with Christians. :(
