Thought I'd start a new thread as this is a new scenario.
It's just going through it's final playtest and will be sent in tonight (hopefully, as I'm off on holiday for a week as of 2am Saturday).

Here's a screenshot to act as a taster.

This is the beginning of the adventure. The fellowship have just become shut inside Moria. The Watcher in the Water, a great tentacled beast, has brought down the Doors of Durin and blocked the west way out. The party now face the long dark of Moria. They must pass deep under the Misty Mountains in order to finally escape on it's eastern side. Will they make it? It's up to you.

Wow!

Impressive graphics...this is quite a view...any other screen shots...

It looks good...you have an interesting take on the Lord of the Rings...I'd like to try this one out...

Are there sounds for this one...tell us more?

Thanks for the encouraging comments.
I'm tempted to put up some more screen shots... but, I don't want to spoil the game for you by showing too much. Besides, I'm just about to send the game in any second now. Soon enough you'll be able to have a go yourself.

Here's a little information to whet your appetite though:

1. All new terrain graphics - everything has been redrawn! I've staged the game so that players will be constantly discovering new terrain graphics (so, please don't spoil things for yourselves and sneak-a-peak ahead by revealing all the map! Explore with the party, not the cheat menu!)
2. All new unit graphics - most of the units are styled on the designs from Peter Jackson's recent movie.
3. Many new sound effects - some taken from the BBC radio play. I particularly like it when Gandalf attacks, crying, "GANDALF IS HERE!" or Aragorn yells, "ELENDIL!"
4. Three full event files.
5. Lots of atmospheric Tolkienesque text.
5. Secret walls to be found.
6. Locked doors that need keys to open them.
7. Tunnel through parts of the Dwarf mines with pick-axes.
8. Plus more that I don't want to reveal yet - have a play and see what you think!

Please, don't expect the game to be exactly like the chapters from the book. I've taken a large artistic license and put all kinds of things into Moria that Tolkien never had happen on the fellowship's journey. But, having been a reader of his for the past 16 years (RPG'ing in Middle-earth for many of those years) I like to think I've not done anything that doesn't fit into his world.

Here's a screen shot...

1. Frodo and Sam get into a tight spot over some goblin gold. Never fear, Sam has his trusty sauce pan to hand!
TONK!

Looks really original! Good job FavouredFlight. :goodjob:

I am going to make a news post about it after midnight (the only time suitable to post dark and evil scenarios). ;)

After the first turn it says my civilization has been destroyed by barbarians...

I ran the batch file before I started, but there was never any place to enter the number 1, so I just tried pressing it on its own and nothing happened.

Wow, thats a really impressive scenario!
I'm playing it right now after converting it (and it will definatly be in the mac database once the thing is finnished) ;)

FavouredFlight,

You have created some truly stunning graphics!
I'm looking forward to see what secrets this scenario holds!

:king:

Absolutely fantastic :goodjob:

Edit. Oh, I´d like to upload in on a German civsite too, if this is fine for you...;)

This very impressive. It puts my LOTR scenario to shame and the fact it appears next to it in the list probably means their won't be anymore downloads of my scenaio. Oh well ...

Wonderful indeed ! Impressive graphics and sounds :goodjob:

Henrik - I'll race you to upload the Mac version ;) btw did you get my email about the Mac conversions list ?

So I take it no one else is having the same problem as me. Is a window supposed to come up when you double-click the batch file, and that's where you type the chapter number (1, 2, or 3)? For me a window comes up for a split second and then disappears.

Wow! This scenario is fantastic! It's definetly the best 'quest' style scenario I've ever played
