Here's a full overview over the new map:
That is a LOT of tiles. Having more space to play with certainly changes some dynamics, and I presume that there will be some new civs to fill in some of the emptier spaces in Africa and southeast Asia/Oceania, and the overall attention to detail is sweet.
This is great! Amazing work everyone!
The whale in the top right corner on the third pic is unreachable by any city. Is this deliberate?
There seems to be much more land, especially in Europe and Africa, I wonder how this will play out.
The whale isn't deliberate in that position, but no clue if it should be removed or relocated elsewhere. I also noticed that there's a stray iron in the Atlantic Ocean in the same pic.
Regardless, this thread isn't for feedback, just an easy to find resource for people who want to look at the map without having to get the map branch and start the game. Please continue to give feedback in the map development thread.
It's so beautiful!!
Thanks Leoreth, this will make city placement a whole load easier!
The screenshot of the western USA shows up in the uploads, but not in the spoilered images.
There also seem to be missing screenshots showing the Eastern Canadian Arctic as well as the Indian Ocean islands (Reunion and Mauritius).
If you do pop back in, some good shots of the whole Arctic Circle would be appreciated Steb mentioned Eastern Canadian Arctic (ie Baffin Island) but the area around Victoria Island is a little tricky to make out too. My mapping is coming alone nicely tho!
EDIT: also a bit of Arctic Russia, specifically the bit around Novaya Zemlya.
Can someone do me the favour and take those screenshots?
For whoever will take the screenshots, we're also missing SW Australia.
I took screenshots of the map for the areas I found were missing: Western Australia, Indian Ocean, and the Canadian Arctic.
