"New" movies coming in 2012

Something about it just seems funnier than the first one.

 

It is called the big lebowski and summerises the life of the avrage cfc.

 

Yeesh. The problem with Quantum of Solace was that it was incredibly preachy and stuffed in more of the divorced-from-reality lolmericans stuff than was usual even for a Bond movie. You ended up thinking about how the rest of the movie compensated for it (you know, cool action sequences, Camille trolling Greene at the party) instead of how the whole thing came together really well, unlike Casino Royale, where it brought everything to the table and didn't take anything off. So you ended up with the Rick Barry of Bond movies. I mean, I'm a huge fan of the reboot, especially the way they did it in Casino Royale, and I still liked Quantum of Solace a lot, and I also think that Bond 23 will kick ass and take names. (Trip to Canada, potentially. Lots of hints about that in Quantum of Solace, unless Quantum gets smart and pulls the plug on that now that Corinne's a dead letter.)

I actually thought that the Brosnan movies were very good, except obviously for Die Another Day; they did a very good job of making Bond into a synthesis of Connery's and Moore's Bonds, while keeping the whole thing fairly relevant. (Especially early on. GoldenEye was amazing. Top five, easily.)

Oh, and A View to a Kill wasn't great. An aging Roger Moore near the tail end of his extremely mediocre career got massively outshone by Christopher Walken and Grace Jones. Tanya Roberts was subpar. You didn't miss much except for Walken, who was pretty good, albeit hammy.

 

Well the villain is Bane, so...

 

Well, Brosnan wasn't so bad, but one tires of a wisecracking pseudo-superman who stops maniacal and far-fetched plots of world domination. Die Another Day was sheer crap, though far better than Live and Let Die, which was downright shameful. Moore was simply too silly (Moonraker) to be Bond. Connery obviously defined the series. Dalton and that other guy were forgettable. But Craig's solid.

The director has said he would most likely make a prequel, not a sequel.

 

Bane's a damn good villain. One of the many mistakes of the Schumaker films was turning him into dumb muscle. The fact that he's a rival for Batman mentally and physically is what makes him interesting in the comics. Here's hoping Nolan gets it right.

 

It's not a sequel, but as there seems to be plenty of people waiting for Piranhas vs. Dinosaurs on a Plane, Hobo With a Shotgun!!

 

Yeah the refreshing thing about Bane is that he isn't clinically insane like most of Wayne's other antagonists. That will make him a bit of a challenge for Nolan.

 

So has anyone seen Fast Five?

I'm confused because everything about the Fast Franchise is terrible, but its getting good reviews. I'm confused.
