New NESes, ideas, development, etc

WORMS! I used to play that all the time.

I didn't really go into battlefield depth, I was more of a 'big picture' person, drawing paper NESes, in effect, with world maps across anything from 1 to 9 pages (25.5x33)

Indeed. I have also done the latter.

I remember me and my brother playing turnbased war games on paper. We simply named it Paper Wars, but the game had quite basic flaws, the most obvious one being invariable movement distances. This, combined with the fact that the units usually needed several tank shells to destroy eachother, meant most encounters ended in posing just outside the movement+firing range of the enemy.

Anyway, it was back in the day when we only had a Stone Age Mac (which we could only use on weekends, besides) and entertainment was made and not born.

I have still some maps that I drew when I was ten or something. Back then, they were mainly for D&D or other role-playing purposes. I recall one of the strangest games I played with my brother was one where I was playing a cat in a neighbourhood. How strange and awkward it is to think about it now...

And I drew them in the 50s. Mostly American Civil War or ancients battles. The picture got more and more complicated and filled as the battle raged.

You're really old. :)

I think I used to play those...when I was like..12...so, erm, 2002ish. :p I know some of my friends still do that in religion, immature as they are, but I moved on to something referred to as "the map game" which was a ridiculously simple NES-a-like. Fun times.

Still, those pen-and-paper battle drawingy thingies were fun for a while.

I never referred to my simple games as anything collectively; they were mostly just depictions of worlds. Now, when I set out to depict them in a real life medium, such as toys or whatever, I would call it the Country Game.

I didn't call it anything....it was far too awesome to merit simple weak words :p

Another silly idea: Hearts of Iron NES (i was bored again)

The mod plays a modded game, the players send orders for tech teams/generals/politicians :)

I was wondering what everyone thought about a Pirate NES (NO I did not get this from the movie. I havent even seen the new one yet.) It would be based in the carribean and maybe we could have the seas be colored so you can see what pirate captain has control over the most land and sea. I dunno I wanted some comments and help on the thing since I think it could work.

I don't think it would work. Though I would join, and do my best to help it succeed.

I just don't think that 'competitive pirates' would really work as a game like this. They don't control land or sea, they just prey on larger powers. Of course, if we changed history... :)

It's spelled 'Trik', not 'Trikk'.

Nice though. :D

Btw, here's what I'm wondering - Starcraft II is great and all, but I didn't expect you to abandon your Penguin avatar entirely. Can't you make an "Infested Penguin" one?

I'd love to see something like that :D

The avatar is so grainy too...eww.

@daft, excellent idea...though I do not own HOI unfortunately, so I personally would be a bit behind :p

@blade roden, and robots. A three way battle for control of the world.
