New NESes, ideas, development, etc

would anyone participate in a "Draw your own story", nes version?

DYOS generally descends into a "war" due to a few idiots that refused to . .. .. .. . off even tho everyone screamed at them until they were blue in the face. We even managed to get moderator action against them.

A NES version of DYOS would have to be sensible, plausible and idiotism-free which would make it something related to a comic book as a NES is related to a book.

Just a thought: Do NESes have a way to represent national debt? It would provide for a source of quick money for emergencies (i.e. war), but the interest and the inherent problems of being too much in debt would become a problem if left unchecked.

I gave players the option of doing that in one of my NESes. No one ever took it, probably because they didn't need to spend that much.

What I was thinking is that it could be we are like Civ Leaders, Highlander style. We control nations, and we can't be killed unless in combat. People would have to consent to dieing, but even if they don't, they can get injured.

You get power through posts per day, but you can draw on your total post count (though you'd have to suffer some sort of consequence)

What kind of NES is still available? Every single freaking idea I have come up with has been taken.

Actually, I have one other idea. What about an NES where players are a European power exploring the (different from OTL) new world. The map would be revealed as it is explored. There would be natives, but they would be NPC'd.

(As you can probably tell, I like to throw ideas at the wall until they stick.)

If anyone indeed is interested in this Draw your own Nes, I will start it up. Just say if you'd be interested :)

Supermath, your idea would work, the only problem is that people know how to go, so it wouldn't be that fair, now would it?

Well, was thinking of a Naruto ninja Academy NES, but Ok.

sp1023.

Multimany NES have run on the same theme.

Just pick one that will have a low number of countries (sub20) with a restricted map and simple rules.

Anything else WILL fail as a first time mod.

As a NES concept gets cooler, the difficulty of modding it increases - at least as far as I can tell. ;) Regarding nice NES ideas, I'd definitely play in a zombie survival type NES where the players are individual characters. I remember Luckymoose bringing that idea up awhile back.

Regarding a NES for you to mod, sp1023, I'd suggest something simple and conventional, without too many nations. It'd be good experience for you to get, if you want to mod something better in the future.

I have been pondering the best way to do that NES. My first draft of the rules wouldn't work like I planned.

@Sp1023: You first NES should be an earth fresh start with limited nations using simple rules. If you want to see how best not to mod a NES. Look here. LuckNES: Cradle to the Grave. Just DO NOT POST IN IT.

Has an ElectionNES been made? Players would be presidential candidates trying to win, there'd be parties, states and different voter groups (like the US but not exactly same) with all kinds of different interests and the players would try to get money and staff for their campaigns, and they could be used to all kinds of actions RL candidates can do (+ some which they could but usually won't, like bribery etc.)

There was a general near future American politics NES - complete with elections in the wake of the collapse of the two-party system. It didn't last, sadly.
