AI improvements welcome, a number of small changes I like, but nothing THAT big. Good patch, but nothing amazing.

Oh well - I liked the game already, so it certainly doesn't hurt ;) Much appreciated, and keep 'em coming!

I think this was their way of getting something out without having to wait months before a big push.

the '2nd part' is slated for months, not weeks, so it's not really a '2nd part' just another patch.

but there are some nuggets in there that have been bothering fans for some time.

I'm especially happy they took this one finally:

Culture: Keep the current culture level of the city after it is captured. The culture production will go to 0, but the culture level must remain the same or else a large city will be able to acquire tiles at the same rate as a smaller city.

    edit:

The 'coming soon' feature is likely one of the basic features they forgot to finish before release. A 'staple' of the series as it were.

pitboss/Pbem is possible, but my bet is the post-game review. Mostly I'm thinking it's that due to the fact that fans have already deciphered the saves for it (code was still there), so now they want to clean it up and have it as an ingame feature.

That, or they'll finally add the Civ 1 animations for wonders :D

I'd settle for a patch that got rid of that horrible dinging and ringing noise that comes every 2 seconds of gameplay when you click on a notification, like unit promotions, city growth, etc.

I"m glad to see a focus on AI improvements, which IMO has been a weak aspect of the game.

I wonder if the economic AI tweak includes the fix to land not being improved around capitals and city states sometimes failing to fix pillaged tiles.

Now that would be nice. Somehow I don't think that's it, however. But I can hope!

    Excellent.

Their continued work has been steadily bringing Civilization V in the right direction, and I fully expect that this patch will do the same. :)

It's interesting this patch seems to be more of a polish than the rebalancing of the last slides, at least so far.
