Orange Cycloptic Blob
I just acquired a second-hand screen from my job this summer, and I intend to use it for my laptop (games look better on CRT-screens IMO). The problem is that the screen was originally used with a Sun workstation, so the plug looks really odd and apparently only works on Sun workstations. At my job, they had converters for these screens to VGA plugs, but the only one left didn't work. I therefore went to a computer store to buy one, but he said he'd only heard of them, but that it was really hard to get hold of (sun is not fond of people using the screens with other computers apparently). So, either I find a converter on the net, or I cut the cable and solder a VGA plug on it. I'd prefer the first one since I don't know much about soldering VGA cables and since I'll probably connect/disconnect it often as the computer is a laptop. If I can't get hold of a converter, the only thing I can do is to solder (I can get what's needed for that), but does anyone know where I can find out which cables to solder where on the plug?
The cable looks like this, where the colons are diagonal and not vertical:
