I freaking hate the new Star Wars movies. The original trilogy is a classic, but for heaven's sake, "Attack of the Clones" sounds like some bad 50s or 60s sci-fi crap film. They're turning Star Wars into a cross between Star Trek, and James Bond. I don't have anything against them, but Star Wars is, like, sacred[/].

I agree! I hope Jar-Jar Binks dies at the beginning of the next movie so we don't have to listen to his crap anymore!

You know, sometimes I even wonder if the reason all of the bad-guys in Episode 1 were androids was so that it would be OK for little 7-year old kiddies to watch the movie, because they weren't actual living beings that were supposed to be dying.

Well Ep1 wasn't that bad but it was nothing compared to the originals. JarJar was a completly unneccersary character and so God damn annoying. A swift light-saber across the skull would be a fitting end LOL

The new ones are just as awful as the old ones. I don't know why Star Wars has been such a madhouse for thirty years. For me watching Star Wars is just as bad as being forced to watch Rob Reiner's North. :vomit:

I agree...but...

Just be glad you aren't Mark Hammill (or however it's spelled)...having Star Wars fans walk up to you every day and ask you stupid questions about the movie.

I don't see how this can be plural... we've only SEEN one, aren't we drawing conclusions a little early?

I didn't think Episode 1 was bad at all, I quite enjoyed it. Granted, Jar Jar and little Anakin were annoying as hell, but Qui Gon & Amidala were cool enough to balance it out for my tastes.
And the second movie isn't supposed to be as cheesy... so things are looking better.

Greadius, Episode 2 may not be cheesy, but the name sure is!

"Attack of the Clones" :vomit:

But, I guess you're right. Episode 1 had its good points also.

Actually Episode II looks pretty cool, at least the trailer does. But I agree that the name is pretty lame.

I liked the second half (from the Pod Race onwards) of The Phantom Menace, but the first half was boring. The Empire Strikes back is the best Star Wars movie ever IMHO.

I agree with your analysis of the silly Star Wars movies, and cannot understand what people see in them, but your HERESY about North is unforgivable:mad:   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a film that is an essential part of the Darkshade canon, and will be awarded many retrospective Academy Awards when my plans for global domination come to fruition (Friday)
Any further mocking or badmouthing of this sacred film will result in immediate nuclear attack.:nuke:

;)

Now, I have no idea what this North thing is, but whatever it is, I'm pretty sure that Star Wars is probably more important than it is, so let's just try to stay on-topic here.

I believe North 'won' the worst movie ever award some time... I've not seen it, but I've heard its pretty bad.

Anyway, the name is autrocious, but I'm still psyched about the movie. I saw the first preview thing there with my mouth watering and was disapointed when it was over. At worst it'll be an eye-candy for us sci-fi nerds. :scan:

I just wanted to add that, for me, Jar Jar takes a second place to those frickin' stupid Trade Consortium aliens. I really hate those stupid Trade Consortium aliens.

I agree Phantom Menace stunk, and I also agree about the campy 50's title comment. The Star Wars franchise is quickly going down the crapper.

EDIT: Oh, and Lucas has really got to come up with a fresher idea than the "Death Star Syndrome" in which the all powerful enemy weapon is designed with it's achilles heel.

They shoudl up and rate it G and have anikin having a teaparty with Queen amidala...

I didn't say that...

Morgasshk.

Yes you did, and don't you wish you hadn't?

I think Episode one wasn't as good as the first three, but it was still a good movie. Jar Jar was the worst part. I do think we have to give credit to the great light-saber duel scene.

Many of us remember the original star wars movies in the realm of cult classic writ large. Nothing is going to live up to them because anything else will constantly be in their shadow. This doesn't mean that quality material isn't going to be released, but nothing is going to compare to the experience you had as a child watching something totally new and different at the theatre in 1977.

Alternative titles for 'Attack of the clones':
"Vader: Puberty and Beyond!"
"When Kids Go Bad"
"The Merchandise Wars"
No, it's all gone bad. Okeeday? Mesir nolikea dat poopykaka!
Compare Phantom Menace with Star Wars. It's manure, end of story.
