I was about to send a parcel (finnish chocolate) today to a friend of mine in USA.
But as I was in the post office I was informed that one can't send parcels containing "food" to USA without submitting a "prior notification" of the shipment to FDA. This is all a result of a new bioterror law that activates today, 12th December 2003.
Additional info:
Registration forms
FDA prior notice info
FedEx
So.. anyone else tried to send such package to USA today? I tried to create an account there an hour ago to make the prior notification, but the registry form had required fields such as "The company with which the account holder is associated. " and it couldn't be left blank.
So.. how should I actually register there as an individual user, or did I understand wrongly? If someone has done this today, i'd appreciate the help
