Greetings,

I'm building a new civilian unit that is basically a "healer" - has a couple of Medic promotions - and the unit uses the Inquisitor animations.

I'd like to be able to add a Repair capability, similar to what workers do to pillaged/fallout squares, so I added that to the Builds in the unit XML file. The command shows up just fine when the unit is on a pillaged square. But as the Inquisitor doesn't "build" anything, the unit just stands there in Idle mode when "Repair" is selected. Not bad, but not good either.

So, I attempted to add a Worker model into the the overall unit. The Healer unit now has two figures - the Inquisitor-based model and a Worker-based model taken from the game. Each of these figures use the correct .fxsxml file.

When the game starts, the unit is correctly shown. When I put the unit on a pillaged square and select the Repair option, the game quickly CTD's on me. It's odd how each unit - if they were separated into two different units - will repair a square without crashing the game. Put them into one unit, and CRASH.....

I've looked through a lot of animation threads, but can't find anything that works. Has anyone successfully blended units like these and seen it work?

OK, nevermind...

After using the different models in different combinations, it appears my problem was with the Inquisitor-based model. You simply cannot combine them with any other model that has an attack. You also cannot combine them with a worker unit and then try to Repair something. One version of the healer unit had the Inquisitor and an escort "wolf" model from LeeS' Wildlife Reborn mod - but this combination crashed the game while simply moving the unit to the next square. There's just something about Inquisitors (and I suspect Missionaries and GPs) that don't play well with other models. I'm sure it's because there's a missing gr2 file or something to that effect. I thought about trying to customize a new ftsxml file to expand the Inquisitor animations, but that's a bit beyond my skills/interests, and probably wouldn't work anyways.

Well, back to the drawing board. Sorry for the interruption....
