I'm not sure what sort of weapons this is ... some sort of early RPG? If so, shouldn't there be smoke and flames from the back end of the barrel?

Its a musket. Remember that Grenadiers generally, during the Napolianic era(which this unit is supposed to come from btw) were basically elite Line Infantry. You could also call this guy the Mesoamerican Line Infantry.

Muskets weren't normally held over the shoulder like that, which would suck for recoil absorption. Flash and smoke excluded, the thing really does look more like a RPG than a musket.

The weapon looks original,. I like it.

BTW, try using IMG tags instead of URL tags for previews.

Thankyou for the kind words Odin.

Next I'm going to attempt a mounted unit, which should give me some expierence, hopefully enough to finish that Elephent Worker.

Great unit, the new attack animation is a great improvement. Did you receive my email with the working animation?

Sorry SOG, I have to agree with TLC, it does look like an RPG, if he were holding a musket like that in real life, he would not hold on to it for long, the people behind him would be pissed though.

It's a MesoAmerican MuskRPG, so it's supposed to go like that, :D.

I don't want to be annoying but looking at the attack thoroughly I've noticed that the unit is floating over the ground

Its a trick of light and shadow.

I've found this . it's a camping backpack but I think it's usefull at civ3 scale. I haven't tested it yet. At that page there are also flintlock rifles.
If you're planning to do a more realistic one, a good idea could be using XIX century militar colours, with brown or black boots, if you want some help I'd be pleased to do a jacket skin for this model.
