This is a unit that could be used, in my opinion, as a flavor unit for the longbowman. The weapon is basically a sort of "manual trebuchet," as far as I can tell. I don't actually know anything about them; I just saw a picute at the DBA on-line site and thought it would make a cool unit. Anyway, enjoy. I haven't played with the unit in-game yet, but hopefully it will work out okay.

No, he doesn't really reload the weapon, but who cares?

Download.

looks great, i like the idea of it not reloading, probably take too much time/energy/space/etc.

good job

Its certainly beutifull:thumbsup:, but any history nuts have an idea how to use it, if you dont wanna replace your crossbowman?

Italy. But any European Civ can use it, I guess :)

wrong, it goes to the greeks, and to spain (Rhodeian, and baleric Slingers were the best in all antiquity)

as a standard ardher replacement

going further a few centuries, it really wouldnt be out of place in a Byzantine army...

oh yes, and a SUPERB unit utahjazz! if you wait a day, I might have a very interesting request- somthing a far cry differnt, and yet in the same "familly' as what you have been doing latelly... but a few centuries fast forwarded ;)

Ah, but no.

Pole slingers were used in Dark Ages and Medieval Europe :cool:

like in the Byzantine empire which I mentioned- but you cant for an instant say they were present in such numbers as to make them a better choice then the archer to represent a civs long rance capacity (although, I have a nice use for him in a dark age scenario role anyway ;))

Anyway someone could shrink this guy down? He would make a great kender for my halfling civ.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

LOL, that's what I thought. "Hmm... but we alreadyt have the Hussar....". I figured i'd use him for the Russian civ as an archer unit, but that's cause I assumed he was Polish. Now I'm not sure. He looks like perhaps a German archer replacement with the furs and whatnot.

Great unit Utah. And now on to the Hornet Hurler? :D
