:) I think the wings are on backwards and set back too far IMO. and I'm not sure about the rainbow colored wings. is this just a snake with wings on it?

Yeah, its a snake, and those are wings. Its an old SA indian god (I dunno which tribe). Or as SoG calles him, his son (?). And its sweet! SoG, can you please post a preview of animations? Maybe bhiita is right about wings being set back too far... But I love it anyway!

Part of me wants to start a new thread stating "Where have all the human unit creators gone for CivIII now that Sword_of_Geddon's moved to fantasy?" That would be rather cheeky though :mischief: .

Ok: I'll never use this unit because I'm not into fantasy mods; however, I commend Sword_of_Geddon for having a go at it and publishing it. You've done something you wanted to do and good for you :) . I'm sure that some of the fantasy mods will find a home for the Son of Quezalcoatyl (top name).

nice unit but its head is waaay out of the animation frame in the west attack..

Very ambitious unit thanks for sharing it.

Suggestions:
  1. Flip the wings around, they do face the wrong way.
  2. Move the wings forward to the joint the snake strikes from.
  3. reduce the unit size (by 30-40%), it seems too large... but this is just a matter of taste (or my lack of such)
  4. double the size of the frame from 100 to 200 pixels (square). This will fix the clipping issue Quinzy reported. It is very obvious in a number of the facings.
  5. Please post preview animations of your units.
  6. Please consider making sounds for your more exotic units. There are certainly no pre-existing sounds which would work with this unit.
  7. include a INI file
  8. Consider including a readme, with a few basics to help new guys add this unit to the game (see what I do, for an example)
  9. There are no eyes. This model screens for creepy glowing yellow eyes.
  10. The central part of the body does not move much. I think maybe it should. Especially in the attack.
  11. You have palette problems, as there is a bit of purple fringing.
  12. Is there civ coloration?
  13. The textures on the wings might benifit from a more graduated approach.. I've seen several other versions of this in Mexican art. Maybe consider using some of them as an example?

I aggree with Bjorns suggestions (except for the size), but I'm adding this to the FF mod as the Quetzalcoatyl GF for the FF VIII civs (the summoned creature for FF VIII) until you do a revised version (if you do one, that is).

I haven't added the techs and other mechanics required for this as of yet, but once I get around to modifying the modern era tech tree, I'll add the summon techs and such.

Besides for some trivial errors it looks fantastic, a real buety.

Thankyou for the Compliments la_dav, and Sildo.

Ames, I don't know what giant monster this could be used for, since to my knowledge there was never any flying snakes in the Godzilla movies..:crazyeye:

Virote: That would be one weird looking chopper...lol
