I always found this odd too. AI thinks offering 1 GPT for 3 of a strategic resource that they have none of is an acceptable trade, even when they are at war and could greatly benefit from it. There must have been a reason for it to have been made like that, but it seems so illogical, and I almost always deny the trade requests they make unless it's a resource I have an overabundance of.

Yes, kinda silly they pay or want 5-20 gold per turn for 1 luxury but only pay 1 gold for 2 horse, while having no access to it normally.

In November, I was able to trade strategic resources to some desperate colleagues for 5+ gold each. Is this a recent observation?

The longer names mod IS compatible, I am using it in my current game - the one listed in the compatible mods. I don't think the contextual names should be integrated (would be nice to have it compatible though), it is not essential and some people might prefer playing without it.

Really Amazing Tactical AI choices. Surprised to see how AI blocks with embarked warriors my embarked horseman.

Has someone already made some experience how the new corporation mechanic (2 offices = 1 franchise) influences the balance in very wide empires (40+). Especially for TwoKay-Food?

I tested the culture one (giorgo armeier? not sure of the name atm), on a fairly wide empire (36 cities) and it was very good once you manage to spread your stuff, good yields and +1 happiness. Then again at that point in the game, I'll only send trade routes to allies I can trust (not that many), vassals, or secure city states, so the spread is limited.
I don't think it gives any unnecessary advantage to wide over tall, as the important factor is how many trade routes you can succesfully get done as soon as your corporation is up.
Never felt limited in in the amount of offices I could build either, as the time when corporations unlock is usually still rather busy production wise.
All in all I'm quite happy with the spot corporations are atm. although I read if you get sanctionned you lose all your "spreads", so that's rough.

Was the median save mechanic removed? I have some happiness swings again, after researching a tech, my happiness goes down from -2 to -28, back to -10, back to -22 ....
80 unhappiness from 180 comes from distress.
One of my 24 citizen cities has 12 unhappiness alone by distress. But all buildings constructed which are possible.

Since this update I'm experiencing a weird issue with autosaves, with my turns being saved both at the start and the end: hence one save too much and some useless cluttering of the save directory, because autosave_turn1 is the same as autosave_post_turn2 (and that also was confusing because I'd expect 'post' to be the save after pressing next turn not the one at the start:crazyeye:... alright better I show a screenshot).

    Spoiler :

    autopost.png

Clean folder, fresh game, no reloads, autosaves set to 1 each turn.

Well, no clue if it's an error on my side (I also got rid of the civ6 loader before installing VP2-17 so no maybe I messed something up) but I'd welcome any input on how to go back to a less messy save folder.

Edit: woops wrong thread, why is the january update one still alive? :D

I agree, and the +200/300/400 gold and science you receive every 10 turns in the middle game from spies rigging city states is legit. She does need a tweak though, because I played an entire game as tech leader with not one attempt from the AI to spy on me. Her UA bonus of slowing spy stealing rate is extremely counterproductive, as you want others trying to steal from you for synergy with her new UB.

That's true, everything just plays well and all the uniques do their thing.

I disagree, the UA + constabulary + Angkor Mandir allowed me to pretty much ignore counterespionage in London and focus on just rigging. It might be a countersynergy in theory, but it just works.

If the base median does not change between births, then your city must have changed its working priorities. Maybe city manager decided to work on more specialist slots, producing less food and production.

This is hard to believe. Changing the focus for the governor is never changing the happiness greater than 2. So it's very unlikely to get 25 unhappiness only by moving the citizens.

I really dislike the change from the global median to a civ only median. This makes no real sense. If my whole empire has a problem with distress, I try to get more food and hammer to solve it (cause all distress reduction options are already done), the median for distress in my whole empire rises, and now I have the same problem as before, but with higher numbers which cause greater unhappiness. Makes no sense.

(I want to mention Iam playing Germany and have very great hammer output)

Am I missing something, here? My city wants literally double the amount of current food I'm producing?
