Hey all,

New version inbound. Sorry about the quick turnaround, but some issues with my merger (what I use to move files from my local repo to beta to release and to github) messed up. Anyways, I've fixed it, and a few other things too. Also made some small pantheon-related tweaks based on feedback, additional scenario testing and a bugfix or two related to AI thinking.

Bugfixes
  • Fixed merge errors from 11-1 merger nightmare
  • Some AI religious selection bugfixes
  • Github stuff

Unit balance
  • Admirals now give +2 supply when expended for resources or heal.

Pantheon balance
  • Commerce - updated text to reflect fact that +2g/f gained in capital immediately (as it is connected to itself!)
  • Springtime - +1p on Market gone, now +3f instead in total
  • Ancestor Worship - +3s specialist now +2s
  • Spirit of Desert- removed improvement requirement (bonuses now happen on resources immediately), Science now a culture, dropped oasis food to +2
  • This was a DLL mechanics issue - only solution without a lot of reworking of plot religion
  • Sun God - now +2 gold/faith on granaries, +3 food on wheat (no gold)
  • Sun God now the sciencey-er desert pantheon, spirit the culture-y-er one
  • Festivals now +1 gold, faith, and culture (removed GAP)

Online as of 11:30pm EST. CP is savegame compatible, but CBO is not (i.e. you could grab just the new DLL if you really wanted...)

Must have been a rough week. I'm sure that last patch was nothing but stressful. Thanks for your hard work!

Looks like God Of Commerce don't give +2 faith or gold from start in Capital. It works like always, when u build second city u got +2/+2 in capital immediately.

It has always been like this. You need city connection to get +2/+2, not just a city.

Multiplayer is not working with the latest versions of the mod. Desyncs usually start right at the start (turn 5-10). After that it is always desyncing every 5-10 turns. We have also tried disabling barbarians but in that situation desyncs started later (maybe 30-40 turns) but after that it was also desyncing every 5-10 turns. Latest version we had success is version from 9th of october. It works with barbarians, only little desyncing and crashing in the late game. We are playing with 2 players standard maps, no other mods.

I just want to say that new description in God Of Commerce are worse then it was. Just read it:
"+2 Faith and Gold in Capital, and in Cities with a City Connection"
So new people will read it and assume to get those 2 faith and 2 gold immediately. And I don't know how to describe in a few words better description.

I'm not sure if I understood it.
"+2 fa/g in cities with a city connection. +2 fa/g in Capital after settling a second city"?

If i'm not mistaken than Wheat on Flood Plains + Sun God with 4 adjacent farms should be 12 food. and 14 for India. Nice.

Hey @Gazebo, Do you know what the base model for the field gun is meant to be? Like, what real-world gun model it is?

According to Gazebo's explanation in the OP, that is correct. You get 2fa/2g in the capital with the pantheon, and in all other cities once they have a city connection.

If the capital isn't providing the benefits immediately, then the beta isn't working as described.

So far everything seems to be working well!

I do however agree with the comments from the previous version(s?) that disliked moving the reduced religious costs and increased religious pressure to Organized religion (3rd policy in the Piety tree, after opener and first policy). If the religious game is meant to be predominantly played in the classical/medieval era, then the decrease of religious costs comes significantly too late. I'd prefer if it this change was reverted and the effect moved back either to the opener or the first policy.

Agree. Right now it feels useless. That +50% pressure on own cities without majority doesn't make sense when all my cities are following my religion already. Unless its only purpose is to be resilient against foreign conversions. Cheaper faith purchases might still be useful by then, though most my cities has already its purchases done.

Could it be split? Adding +50% pressure in the opener, cheaper purchases in the first policy. Castles can be delayed. Maybe I'm not waiting for the policy to begin building castles, but there's still castles to build. I know G wants monasteries early to have something to spend faith on. But monasteries before faith cost reduction sounds like a waste.

It seems such a useless policy now, I tend to rely on faith buildings for pressure because I can't be bothered with missionaries and tend to have them mostly built before getting to the policy.
