Hello, new to the forum and new to the game - just purchased on Steam for use on my iMac.
Game runs great, but for my tastes, the ages advance too quickly - especially in Marathon. YMMV
I know that on a PC you can update the research speeds (slow them down, in my case) by upping the value in the "ResearchPercent" element in the file Civ5GameSpeeds.xml.
Problem is, I can't locate this file on my version (Mac/Steam). Can anyone give me a hint where to look (perhaps what package and where it is located)? I'm perfectly comfortable doing this sort of thing, and will backup first. Just don't know where to look.
