You get no slave workers when you raze a city except those that you have already captured, I believe.
No, you do get workers when you raze enemy cities. I've seen it for myself while razing cities. I think the number of workers you'll get is something like pop of city razed divided by 2.

Rounded up or down?

How do you play with 24 civs in a game of PTW?

I have seen people play with 24 civs and I am unsure how they do this, because when I go to choose a huge map then select civilizations it only displays 16 civs (15 AI and me).

Thanks in advance.

You have to open the editor and design a mod that allows for 24 civs on the ideal map sizes. Play around, as the editor is fun.

that basically means you:
open civ3xedit
click scenario and allow custom rules
click "ok"
at the top right click edit (where it says citizens)
click on the "world sizes tab near the top right"
play around (should be pretty obvious)
make any other changes to the game you want (if any)
save it. Open the scenario. Now generate the map ingame to whatever size fits your fancy.
Select 23 random rival civs.
Have a blast!

Oh great, thanks!
I didn't see this edit section

EDIT: What does the aggression level do? Does it really change anything in the game?

The aggression level is very important. A civ with aggression level 5 will be attacking you without warning earlier than a civ with level 1. That's why the Persians are so dangerous. Super Unique Unit and aggression level 4!!!

Oh ok

Where can I find information about aggression levels for the 16 civilizations from Civ3?

I don't think they are mentioned in the manual.

Divide by two and round down. :)

I tried (long time ago) to launch an amphibious assault with an army filled with marines only. It did not work. But I'm pretty sure that it was v1.07. Maybe this was fixed by a later patch (although I don't believe it was).
This was changed in PTW (IIRC), so that special abilities are retained in an army if all units in the army have the ability.

Now that I think of it, I have gotten workers when razing cities. But I'm not sure.

How much does each Ancient tech cost? I'm tired of being embarrassed in my SG by my boneheaded diplomacy.

What exactly does the palace and FP do?

I keep hearing that is provides benefits for the civlization, but what exactly do they do?

Thanks in advance.

Key word: Corruption!

The city your Palace is in (your capital) has virtually no corruption. The further cities get from your capital, the greater the amount of corruption.

The FP acts like a second palace, except it does have some slight corruption.

An ideal layout has 2 "core" areas for your empire, each centered on the Palace or FP. These core areas are areas of low corruption, and therefore high production, and are thus the "powerhouses" for your civ.

Hi everybody. :)

I search all around the forum to find an answer to a question about the unit upgrade, but I don't find it.

I'm playing a game with the mongols and I want to upgrade my horseman in the UU Keshik (I don't remember the right name of the mongols'UU :p ).
I notice that, to accomplish this, I need 60 gold. So I read in the civilopedia that the cost of this UU is also 60!
What is the need to upgrade 1 unit, instead of build a new one and still retain the old one at the same price?

I also notice that the upgrade of a spearman in a pikeman is less expansive the the building of a new pikeman?

Why there is this difference between the two upgrades?

Bye
Simone
