    Welcome to the 177th game in the GOTM V Training Series! This Series will allow new and old GOTM fans to try out these features from Civ5's expansions and DLCs in a friendly environment. Participants are encouraged to post questions, stories, advice, tricks and failures in the dedicated game threads (described below). Each game will specify the Civ you will play and the Victory Condition to strive for. You can read more about the GOTM and Training Series concept in this thread.

    In this game, you will be playing as Attila, you possess Scourge of God - Raze Cities at double speed. Borrow City names from other in-game Civs. Start with Animal Husbandry technology. +1 production Production per Pasture.

    You can train the Battering Ram, a Unique siege unit that replaces the Spearman. It has increased combat strength versus cities and may not melee attack other units. It possesses Cover 1 promotion to protect itself from ranged city and unit attacks. Only the Huns may build it.

    You can also train the Horse Archer, a Unique mounted ranged unit that replace the Chariot Archer. This Unit has a slightly higher combat strength and can move through rough terrain without the Chariot Archer's movement penalty. They also start with the Accuracy I promotion. As a mounted unit, the Horse Archer is vulnerable to Spearmen. Unlike the Chariot Archer, the Horse Archer does not require Horses.

    TSG Announcement thread (this one): This thread is used to announce the game and clarify the settings and rules (dont be afraid to ask questions). Its also used to discuss the game before you start, and post problems with opening the save. Please dont post any game-related info once you open and play the save. Instead use the next thread.
    Opening Actions thread: This thread is used to discuss the game's opening decisions and strategies through the first 100 or so turns. Here you can post questions related to the game and share your achievements/anger/frustration/victories while you play. We encourage players to use the spoiler tags for screenshot. During the time the game is active, please do not post any information concerning the game outside of the spoiler threads including screen shots, videos, or recorded/live-cast Let's Plays on other websites.
    After Actions thread: In this thread you can post the results of your game. Please state your victory/loss date (preferably in the post title) and describe your path to glory in this post! Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the game. Some players like to replay the game, and although we will not record the results from a replay, you can still post your new experiences. The game will not be closed as such, but after one month, the results will be compiled, and will not necessarily be updated with reports coming in after the finish date.
    Results and Congratulations thread: We will create a separate thread with the results at the end of the one month submission period (sorted by earliest date and highest score ). We will issue a medal to the top winner (based on earliest date finished for each VC). There are no long-term records kept for these results, they are just given out to top finishers to reward their efforts.

    File Upload System
    We have a game file upload system you can find here. Please use it to upload your completed first attempt by saving the game on the turn after your victory or defeat. (by using the "lemme play one more turn" feature) Please note: you must submit your game on the turn following Victory. If you continue to play, the game overwrites the data and your submission could be rejected by the submission system.
    This game runs for a month and ends January 15, 2019.

    Didn't play much domination, so this looks like a nice one. Although 300 turn limit sounds like that might be hard for me...

    Yep, this might not be easy, even on King. Domination of 11 other civs in under 300 turns. I don't really know though since I've never tried it.

    I thought about moving the settler west to get closer to the horses. Then I realized we don't need horses for horse archers. Might move that way anyway, production is going to be slow if I settle in place.

    Next decision is Liberty or Honor. I usually try Honor with Atilla and it doesn't work so well. Maybe I'll go straight for Liberty. Or open Honor then go Liberty. Decisions, decisions.

    Edit. Just noticed no barbs or goody huts so no point in going Honor. Liberty it is. (Unless that text is just left over from the last game. Atilla without barbs is going to make it even harder cause can't level up the horse archers.)

    300 turns on a huge map could be tough! Also, no OP carnage from Warrior upgrading to Battering Ram.

    Attila gets a production bonus from Pastures, so Warrior West just to double check, then loose a turn to get the sheep in range. I also hate to loose a chop, so probably Settler SW->W rather than just W. I will probably just go 4-city Tradition, as per the usual usual.

    Maybe do it as a OCC? Less happiness issues... though unit upgrades and distance cause major problems, so probably a bad idea.

    I kind of dislike grassland starts. I will probably settle next to the horses or on the hill next to the sheep, dependent on what is N of the desert hills.
