    Civilization VI - Game of the Month 78
    Welcome to the 78th game in the 6OTM Series! These games will allow new and old GOTM fans to try out the new features in Civ6 in a friendly environment. Participants are encouraged to post questions, stories, advice, tricks and failures in the dedicated game threads (described below). Each game will specify the Civ you will play and the Victory Condition to strive for. We will be working to refine the 6otM concept as we move ahead with the series.

    Eleanor's Unique Attributes:

    Eleanor's Special Ability: Court of Love: Great Works in Eleanor's cities cause -1 Loyalty per turn in foreign cities within 9-tiles. A city that leaves another civilization due to a loss of Loyalty and is currently receiving the most Loyalty per turn from Eleanor's civilization skips the Free City step to join this civilization.

    Unique Ability
    : Workshop of the World: Iron and Coal mines accumulate 2 more resources per turn. +100% production towards Military Engineers. Military Engineers receive +2 charges. Buildings that provide additional yields when Powered receive +4 of that yield. +20% Production towards Industrial Zone buildings. Harbor buildings increase Strategic Resource Stockpiles by +10% on Standard Speed.

    Unique Unit: Sea Dog: English unique Renaissance era naval unit that replaces the Privateer. Has a chance to capture defeated enemy ships. Can only be seen by other Naval Raiders unless adjacent to it. Reveals Naval Raiders within site range. Requires the knowledge of Civic of Mercantilism to build them.

    Unique Infrastructure: Royal Navy Dockyard: A district unique to England for naval activity in your city. Replaces the Harbor district. Also removes the Movement penalty for embarking and disembarking to and from this tile. Must be built on Coast or Lake Terrain adjacent to land. +1 movement for all naval units built in Dockyard. +2 Gold and +4 Loyalty per turn when built on a foreign continent. Cannot be built on a reef. Requires the knowledge of the technology of Celestial Navigation to build them.

    Announcement thread (this one): This thread is used to announce the game and clarify the settings and rules (don’t be afraid to ask questions). It’s also used to discuss the game before you start, and post problems with opening the save. Once you have opened the save, DO NOT POST in the Announcement thread, even non game-related information. Instead use the next thread.
    Opening Actions thread: This thread is used to discuss the game's opening decisions and strategies through the first 100 or so turns. Here you can post questions related to the game and share your achievements/anger/frustration/victories while you play. We encourage players to use the spoiler tags for screenshot. During the time the game is active, please do not post any information concerning the game outside of the spoiler threads including screen shots, videos, or recorded/live-cast Let's Plays on other websites.
    After Actions thread: In this thread you can post the results of your game. Please state your victory/loss date and final score (preferably in the post title) and describe your path to glory in this post! Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the game. Some players like to replay the game, and although we will not record the results from a replay, you can still post your new experiences. The game will not be closed as such, but after one month, the results will be compiled, and will not necessarily be updated with reports coming in after the finish date.
    Results and Congratulations thread: We will create a separate thread with the results at the end of the one month submission period (sorted by date and score). We will issue medals to the top 3 winners (based on earliest date finished). There are no long-term records kept for these results, they are just given out to top finishers to reward their efforts.

    I'm relatively new to civ6 and don't even know what techs and projects are needed for a SV but will give this a try. It will be first time England too which is exciting because Harbours and IZs are my favourite districts and they seem to be the two core English ones.

    For settling it will probably be where the warrior is to build a green/IZ zone with a city in the U-turn of the river in the north and another one NE-E from the right lake - assuming those two tiles are not mountains or coast. It's a natural aqueduct triangle but there is also space for at least 2 canals and a dam so it should result in some good IZs. Immediate access to the 3-2 spice should mostly make up for the 1 turn delay.

    1. The first tech you need is rocketry. Rocketry means you can build a spaceport.
    2. Then you can also run the project to launch an earth satellite
    3. Then research satellites and launch the moon landing
    4. Then research fusion and launch the mars colony
    5. Then research smart Materials and launch the exoplanet expedition
    6. You can speed this up with laser projects run multiple times (you need to find the tech near the end of the tree.

    Getting as many science eurekas as possible does help speed things up as does chopping in your first spaceport and getting to globalization.

    Thanks Victoria. I worked out the order from the game and the wiki but wasn't aware of the Globalization - and it did help a lot. As did your guides in general actually. As I was starting and was searching for information on various topics, most of the time I ended up finding it in one of them. Very thorough and informative and still concise and easy to read. Perfect distillation and presentation of information. :hatsoff:
