On Deity, I find it very difficult to obtain WW's without using a GE to hurry. But setling is a more positive benefit in a langer game, so any vc other than AP is setling the GE a net gain. It comes out to deciding what you want to go for before you can decide the best way to use him. Like you point out, the benefit of pyramids may only be applicable to some types of VC's and depends on opponents and geography. I am also sceptical of using him blindly, whereas setling him can have utility in almost any type of situTION

Hmm. I suspect the top scores are going to come from people who manage to settle both GPs, get a few good cities and Mids, maybe GLH but not necessarily due to GPro GPT and Rep beakers, depends on nearby coastal locations. A few workable islands near capital - not uncommon on Tectonics - would make GLH a must-have. So I'm considering Worker then a few Warriors to explore before a second Worker and a Settler, no barbs means first expo can afford to be the settler producer. Probably 1E from Warrior starting point.

I can see the appeal in bulbing MC and it's probably a good call with IND, but in the event of a GLH GM and a source of Horses for WC rampage, what about Currency instead? It'd enable a pretty large empire of cities that run a food source and two Rep Scientists, and grows off a mine or two whilst waiting for the whip to cool down. Gonna want an Academy in that cap as well. So, how to rank priorities:

    - GS Academy
    - GE AP
    - GE/GM MC
    - GM Currency
