With quechuas and a known all-land map-type, this map was surely set up for conquest, and you guys rose to the challenge magnificently. Jovan Kukic managed to conquer all the AIs in 660AD, earning fastest conquest award and the gold medal. Xcalibrator managed fastest domination in 1080 AD (silver), followed by Deckhand on 1280 AD (bronze) - the fastest dates nice correlating with the medals here!

However, the very fastest victory of all came in an astonishing 100AD, courtesy of babybluepants: Fastest religious!

This game actually saw a wide variety of victory types being represented. Space (nocho was fastest, in 1750 AD), diplo (da Vinci in 1930 AD), and even cultural (Mao Zedong of China, beating donsig. This was the latest victory. Mao only just managed to sneak in in 2036 AD, shortly before the game would've finished anyway. Must've been a bit frustrating for donsig! :mischief:).

Well done everyone!

Summary of Medal Winners:

Jovan Kukic: 660 AD Conquest Victory, 282,286 points.

If there were an award for 4th place finishes, I would probably finish 4th.

Congratulations to all the winners! :goodjob:

Thanks for the game, DS. Inca are always fun, but you could have made the Carthage and Mongolian capitals a bit nicer!

Did you mean you would probably finish fifth? :wallbash:

Few players manage to avoid any awards these days. Maybe that's another kind of skill. :hide:

If I'd done that, then Carthage and Mongolia would have become more advanced, so you wouldn't have been able to capture their capitals in the first place!

Good point. Perhaps there are too many awards and we should remove some of them. I was thinking the other day, maybe we could replace all the various awards and medals with just two awards: An award for the fastest space win by any member of GOTM staff, and an award for being DynamicSpirit. That way, you'd only get at most two awards per game, so it would become much more special when someone does wins an award. And of course, it would really incentivise people to work to win the awards. That should hopefully improve the competition.
