Quite a good variety of victories in this game, but I have to say I thought the dates were a bit later than we normally get. With one, possibly two exceptions... The most dramatic exception was babybluepants, who achieved a cultural victory in 1080AD. That's almost a 'wow, how did he manage that?' date! And the second exception was lymond, with a 1555AD diplo victory, which I think is no mean achievement considering how far up the tech tree you need to go for a diplo victory. Lymond's victory also earned him the gold medal, something that's quite unusual for a diplo victory.

The other fastest finishes were deckhand (1836 AD domination, silver medal), Ronnie1 (1770 AD religious, bronze medal), and MarleysGh0st (1945 AD space race)

As usual congrats to all the winners - and commiserations to the larger than usual contingent of loss/retired games - nearly half the entries. Maybe I made that game a tad difficult...

    Summary of Medal Winners:

lymond: 1555 AD Diplomatic Victory, 229,821 points.

deckhand: 1836 AD Domination Victory, 127,923 points.

    Ronnie1: 1770 AD Religious Victory, 100,493 points.

    Fastest Finish Award Winners:

babybluepants: 1080 AD Cultural Victory, 46,291 points.

    MarleysGh0st: 1945 AD Spaceship Victory, 40,281 points.

    Other Award Winners:

    UB40: 2006 AD Diplomatic Victory, 21,268 points.

    Kime11: 1980 AD Spaceship Loss, 5,880 points.

donsig: 1910 AD Conquest Loss, 1,052 points.

    Here's where everyone settled.

    The Small Print:
The numbers by each player's name indicate the turn settled on (starting turn is 0). Players are colour coded by game class (challenger=red, adventurer=blue). Symbols indicate victory condition, if there's no symbol then the player either retired or was defeated. The yellow border indicates the land that was visible at the start of the game.

Wow, I got an award! And a shield, too. But overall, my score is still squarely in the middle of the pack.

    Mediocrity forever! :smug:

    Congrats to all.
:goodjob: to LinkDinkin who managed to fly below the radar and not get any awards.
:mischief: Curses to Lymond whose last day submission robbed me of my first gold and epathalon. :gripe:Guess I gotta keep playing until I'm the only one left. :old:

Blast! I launched my spaceship in 1902 AD and then, for some short-sighted reason, immediately decided to vote for my own Diplo victory. Totally would have won a trophy if I'd just done nothing for 2 turns .

    Spoiler :

    "pun" intended?

You can gripe at lymond too. You would have had fastest Diplo victory without his last hour submission. :mischief:

Espionage? or pure culture? Either way, nice game.
