Starting Techs are useless. Hunting is a negative. Because you can’t build warriors once you get copper. If Copper is under our capital, we’re screwed
Sid is not the mapmaker...copper cannot be under our capitol as the settler never stands on a resource
I know. I just find the diplo tricks and trading patterns which are adopted in "normal" games a bit repetitive, that's also a reason why I lean so much towards Always War (because unit moves, city placement and promotions are almost never the same). In that regard, I won't miss the trading here not at all and I am looking forward to the people of Senggum.
Hmm, cannot really imagine that they would attack us at turn 2, because that would mean Game over anyway. We have just 1 warrior. So a short glance to the northwest with the GG must be possible.
The PC saves are there. Hoping @AlanH will add Mac saves soon.
Link to saves seem to be missing. Anyway, they are here: http://gotm.civfanatics.net/civ4games/index.php?month=70197
Mac saves are now available. Sorry for the delay
The saves are there, but your link is out of date as of yesterday The reason I was a bit late getting the Mac saves up was because we have added an SSL certificate to the server, and I've been trawling through the code on the server to ensure that all the pages load securely. So the better link to use is https://gotm.civfanatics.net/civ4games/index.php?month=70197
Please note that you can always get to the saves for a game by going to https://gotm.civfanatics.net/. Most pages on that server display current Civ4 games down the right hand column, and you can get to the release page for any of them by clicking the image. Older games are also accessible in that column using the menu.
I've updated the OP with the https links. The saves are there, but your link is out of date as of yesterday
As a little aside/tip, I would strongly encourage people to use extensions such as HTTPS Everywhere. Great to see that https been implemented here too.
Not sure if I'll play this one yet (will start with 198), random personalities is particularly offputting. What does it do now again? Mansa can be Ragnar, or Mansa can get IND+PHI or whatever?
Until you figure out who they pretending to beT So basically all the info in the great "Know your enemy" guide is useless.

Cheers. So they get the normal traits of whatever civ they are, but can get the personality of anybody else, like Gandhi is truly Montezuma and stuff like that. Oh gosh! They get normal traits, just random personalities (eg. Toku can open borders with you immediately and Gandhi be a warmonger ). So basically all the info in the great "Know your enemy" guide is useless.
Minor Civs are, er, Minor Civs not BarbariansI suspect not, but they're "kinda" barbs

Apologies, it's the 26th August as per the official page. What is actually the date of submission for this game?
As has been said it is the personalities that is random so Toku could act like Mansa and trade everything or Gandhi could be a backstabbing war monger.Mansa can be Ragnar, or Mansa can get IND+PHI or whatever?
