This was the Christmas special on the icy landscape. And first up, congratulations to @Zhary, whose 1500 AD fastest religious victory brings him a 3rd eptathlete award!

And a second special mention to @Xcalibrator for being the only person to dare attempt the deity challenger save - and getting the cow award for - basically, biggest empire - in the process.

Most of a relatively large crowd of players managed to win this game, with @nocho getting the gold medal for a 1330 AD conquest win, but getting beaten by @Powerfaker for the fastest conqust - 1280 AD. @Tonny secured fastest domination (1240 AD) and the silver medal - an impressive feat considering this was only Tonny's 2nd ever BOTM entry - and the previous one was over a year ago. @WastinTime got the fastest diplo win in 1200 AD - a very fast date for diplo - even beating our fastest religious eptathlete! Fastest culture went to @Jovan Kukic, but with a 1705 AD date, I don't think we can do any boasting there ;-)

And why did no-one go for space (except possibly @greatbeyond, who sadly didn't win).

Here's where everyone settled. A few interesting choices, but it seemed that most people chose to head for the nearest riverside tile that kept the stone and some of the food and allowed T0 settling.

The Small Print:
The numbers by each player's name indicate the turn settled on (starting turn is 0). Players are colour coded by game class (challenger=red, adventurer=blue). Symbols indicate victory condition, if there's no symbol then the player either retired or was defeated. The yellow border indicates the land that was visible at the start of the game.

Way to go, Ton! :D

Congrats to the winners

Thanks for all the kind words.
Never thought that my score would be worth a medal. :)
This was a very fun map to play. Ice only slowed my workers, but just built a few more to cope with that. I love games with lots of rivers! Cottage heaven! :D
I feel sorry for @Pangaea for beating him with just a few turns for domination.
I'm very impressed by the very fast conquest victories by @Powerfaker and @nocho.
And of course by @WastinTime for the fastest victory date at all!
I'm sure I forget to mention other impressive feats. Great job all!

Neh, don't feel sorry about that @Tonny. I'm sure you played a better game than I did, and besides, I've done surprisingly well in some of the other recent maps. Well done on an excellent Domination win. It was pretty tight with many going for it

Congratulations to the other medal and award winners too. Good to see such high participation :)
