Here's where everyone settled.

The Small Print:
The numbers by each player's name indicate the turn settled on (starting turn is 0). Players are colour coded by game class (challenger=red, adventurer=blue). Symbols indicate victory condition, if there's no symbol then the player either retired or was defeated. The yellow border indicates the land that was visible at the start of the game.

Congrats @Bemep42! You know there's strong competition when your 500k is not enough to secure victory:).

I think, Astro push was probably the wrong plan on my side. Now, I want to check out, how my game would have changed if I decided to go straight to Guilds. I got Biology T176. Will see, how much of a delay later Astro would be.
Also, looks like top 3 participants are the ones who settled on the correct spot

Thanks for the map, @kcd_swede. This setup was interesting, especially the part, where you directly put research of your vassal from T1. Really made me think about the early game research plan.

Great game and a very close space race between me and @Smiregal (two turns separation). Surprising that there were no conquest wins.

Thanks to @kcd_swede for this interesting setup.

@ariosto: Nice observation, plains hill is probably the best spot, but this was not clear at T0 because the gems were hidden behind the hill and there were no way to find them without moving the settler.

That is certainly true. But I still would have settled PH even if gems and cows were just usual riverside grasslands and I knew that beforehand. I prefer extra hammer and floodplain over capital gold, and I knew that it is possible to settle second city to work gold and share pigs.
Well, capital gold probably was worth it in Oracle -> CS -> Academy play. I didn't consider that plan, though.
With that being said, extra gems changed the equation from "probably better suitable for my strategy and playstyle" to "objectively much better no matter how you play"
