BOTM 294: Sitting Bull, Deity

I guess it is time for a Deity game. I had a twisted concept for making a really challenging Noble level game, but since the schedule called for a Deity game... that can wait. I decided instead to give you the sweetest start you could ever hope for on a Deity map. Not the best leader perhaps, but I think you all will do just fine. I hope you enjoy. And I really will try to report some prelim and unofficial summer games (BOTM291 and beyond) results soon.

The game starts now... can be played until the server is working, at least until September 2. Save attached

Civilization: Native America - Unique Unit: Dog Soldier (replaces Axeman), Unique Building: Totem Pole (replaces Monument)
Leader: Sitting Bull
Difficulty: Deity
Map size: Standard
Map Script: Terra, medium seas
Starting Era: Ancient
Speed: Normal
Options: No barbarians, no goody huts, no random events
Rivals: 6
Victory conditions: All enabled
World wrap Cylindrical

It'll be interesting to see how soon I die. I might be tempted to SIP. Of course it's been so hot here that I need to sip or gulp water anyway.
Sweetest start? There's no sugar. I refuse to use artificial sweeteners. However it does look uncharacteristically nice.
We probably got psychotic neighbours and some other  :viking: stuff. Maybe they¨ll give us a nice blood eagle.

SIP does look good. Both worker or workboat first look fruitful. Wet river corn. Magical fish. Nice river tiles for cottages. Second city already looks excellent. Huge amount of commerce to compete with the deity AIs, food to pump settlers and workers, three happies in sight, tons of healthies. Even some chops. Lots of fun!

Mapmaker even sounds hung over from summertime merriment. (I.e., not too evil...)

and we get to start immediately once he appends the save...

Hi. The first post including the startingsave are scrambeled. Alos of passages are not readble and the savefile is gone. Was someone able to download it or Im I the only one?
Greetings

Yeah, the garble was due to the file used to create a shmtl file for game release, and I was too pressed for time to clean it up. Also, the starting save got lost somehow, but I hope it is downloadable now.

Probably depends on the AI choices and the rest of our area. Stone or marble nearby?

With no barbs, your theory might be even likelier.

Having no AIs to trade with is eventually a huge handicap. Being free to expand is a benefit.

Racing to Astro would be imperative.

Disregard the red warning in the settings tab that says Lock Modified Assets was not checked and invalidates the map from HoF play. The worldbuilder is anyhow NOT accessible, and your game will be accepted for BOTM. Note, technically all BOTM maps are not eligible for HoF submissions, but I missed checking the box. But I do not anticipate any troubles in having fair competition.

Hey kcd, please set up the spoilers so we can share the stories of our triumphant victories or more likely (for me) dispiriting defeats.

Oh... wow... I totally forgot about that. Will do immediately... and edit for aesthetics later.

Is this issue different from what kcd said in post #10?

Disregard that warning. Let us know if for some reason your system doesn't let you play the save, though. May be a work-around for that.
