Here are the results of the PtW game as China at Regent level. Eight players submitted their games, all were victorious, with a heavy bias towards 20K cultural wins.

Congratulations to all, and special congratulations to Garvag whose Domination victory scored him his fourth Eptathlon.

Congratulations to all players! Any thoughts or suggestions on the map or game setup? This was my first gotm game setup. Tried to make it fun and a little bit challenging even though it was only regent level

Some amazing results there! Conquest (@cerajo) earlier than domination, domination (@Garvarg ) in less than 8 hours, and then 20k in 1385 AD!

@Green Bear : Did that involve a very early Great leader?

I also tip my hat in the direction of @Lanzelot, who also he beat me properly!

Congratulations to the winners! The beaten salute you!

Some time ago, I analyzed a few of the really fast 20K victories for PtW, and I think it does indeed depend on a certain luck factor with early MGLs. I usually have pretty bad luck with MGLs, sometimes conquering the entire world without getting a single MGL...

For example, comparing GOTM191 in the "Replay" tool, we can see that ignas got his first MGL in 1910 BC (turn 47), which resulted in the Pyramids in turn 50. This was followed by the second MGL in 1550 BC (T59), third in 430 BC (T107), fourth in 290 BC (T114), fifth in 10 BC (T128) , while I got my first MGL in 230 AD (T140).

Comparing GOTM192, we see that culture-wise frog99's and my start were pretty similar: I built the first wonder in T56, frog99 in T57 (in both cases the Pyramids), and the second one (Great Library) was built in turns 76 and 74 respectively, the Great Wall and Hanging Gardens also pretty close to each other. But then the games diverted significantly with regards to MGLs:
frog99: T115, T127, T133, T139, T144, T149, T158, T167
myself: a single one in T170

Yess, I think better to invest the early wonder shields into military which would be used to fight early wars in order to obtain (hopefully) an early MGL for the wonder + gain more pop/territory for score/faster research.
You can accomplish some good things with 200 shields invested in barracks and archers.

By the way, I've got an early MGL in this game as well with my first elite victory around 1250 BC which was used to rush the Pyramids. Was playing for the Space victory, but was a bit demotivated seeing that it's unlikely that I'll beat current no 1 1040 AD finish - had sci AIs to get all mandatory first tier Industrial and Modern Age techs for free in order for me to finish at 1010 AD.
