    kcd_swede has arrived in the GOTM Staff Room. He has been a prolific Civ4 GOTM player in all the variants, and will help us to continue to bring you great game designs as our workload increases.

    Please join me in welcoming him to the team.

    Thanks for stepping up, kcd_swede. We now have enough staff to support two BOTMs, one WOTM and one GOTM every 20 days... :)

    @kcd_swede,
    Congrats fellow recruit! :thumbsup:

    How did you know? We are, in fact, working on a new Game of The Week concept, with maybe an occasional Game of the Day matinee on Tuesdays. :rolleyes:

    Very nice to see new additions to staff when it was looking like the C-IV gotm was slowing down :thumbsup:
    Looking forward to seeing what you can come up with in interesting games.

    Aha! Finally, I have found a bribeable game designer! No more cursed saves for me!

    That is, unless I stop paying and you send me the cursed saves as punishment. Maybe I'll have to rethink this idea.

    In the meantime, congrats on your promotion! I'm sure that you'll do us all proud!

    Thanks for the support, folks! I hope I can live up to the expectations and provide some fun and challenging games. If there are certain things you'd like to see more of or some things you never want to see again, be sure to speak up. Can't promise anything other than that I'll do my best to serve the community here.

    @Dhoomstriker: Adding a few more zero's to the amount in your next payment might be a good idea, now that I'm in a little stronger bargaining position. :mwaha:

    No huts and no random events please. Although, about the only way I'm going to beat Lexad, Duckweed and a whole host of others is if I pop two settlers and three workers and they pop nothing but angry barbs. Even then it would probably be too close to call... :lol:

    I agree that random events and huts can be fun, but they make it a lot harder to compare xOTM games. One bad random event could change an otherwise fastest finish to second best. Or one good random event could change a third fastest finish to top spot. Is it fair to leave this to total luck?

    Sure, there already is a large element of luck/chance in the game already. But why add more?
