Information about threads associated with each individual TSG -- Must Read if you are new to our Game of the Month!
    Spoiler :
Please note: If you wish to make a video of your game, please do not post any links to it until after the game submission date has passed. This is because of the potential spoilers that are created by posting before the end date. Thank you for your cooperation.
TSG Announcement thread (this one): This thread is used to announce the game and clarify the settings and rules (dont be afraid to ask questions). It's also used to discuss the game before you start, and post problems with opening the save. Please dont post any game-related info once you open and play the save. Instead use the next thread.
After Actions thread: In this thread you can post the results of your game. Please state your victory/loss date (preferably in the post title) and describe your path to glory in this post! Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the game. Some players like to replay the game, and although we will not record the results from a replay, you can still post your new experiences. The game will not be closed as such, but after one month, the results will be compiled, and will not necessarily be updated with reports coming in after the finish date.
Results and Congratulations thread: We will create a separate thread with the results at the end of the one month submission period (sorted by earliest date and highest score ). We will issue a medal to the top winner (based on earliest date finished for each VC). There are no long-term records kept for these results, they are just given out to top finishers to reward their efforts.

This game runs for a month and ends Feb 1 2018.
Game will posted later this evening PST[/QUOTE]

This'll be a nice change at Prince after that fun but very hard Dutch Diety game. Although I always expect Prince games to be easy and then get surprised by an AI rush when I fail to pay attention to the basics. Hubris has been the downfall of many a civilization.

Looks like a good start. Some jungle but not too much. I think I'll settle in place since its on a river. I'll first move the warrior to the hill to see what's around but I don't think there will be any reason to move to settle.

I cannot [tell] if the hill is on a river, if so, that is where I will settle.
No policy exclusions this time, so I will try Liberty/Piety mix and Sacred Sites. Then turtle until the UU comes online and DOW the world.

FYI the Rainforest map doesn't necessarily generate one Pangaea-like landmass. I tried a practice game with the strategy you had in mind (any cultural game is Sacred Sites or bust for me, all-or-nothing), and was surprised to discover I had a continent with only 3 other civs on it.

I don't see how it would be possible to pull off a SS strategy when you need to tech Astronomy in order to meet all the civs. You skip on so much infrastructure and population (and therefore science) that it would take ages to reach the tech. Then you gotta build caravels and actually meet people. But hey, if you can do it I'll be super impressed. Or maybe you get lucky and this particular map is not split into continents.
