Here are the results of the first attempt at a team game. 13 out of 32 entries were victories. The spoilers seem to be divided between those who were able to make the team work in their favour, and the rest.

Let's congratulate all who attempted this game.

Now this is a sweet surprise. And to think that I was pissed off about getting my second accidental domination while trying to get a conquest. Some day I will manage the conquest but for now, I 'll be glad to get a medal :D.

PS. Congratulations to all the winners and two thumbs up to toller pretzl and ngraner42 for managing what must have been the two hardest awards. my dream awards.....may be for..:xmas: ....:D

Congrats to the medal and award winners, and to all of those who got the team to victory! :goodjob:

As always, many thanks to the staff for a great game!! :goodjob::goodjob:

My first daily double! :D I just knew that stopping short of the dom and going diplo would pay off ... :mischief: Another hit 'em where they ain't diplo dom cheapo fastest finish for me.

That lucky break allowed me to crack the top 15 in speed and combined ... so kaizer, you are off the hook now ... ;)

My first Green Ambulance!

I guess that's some consolation for missing the space race by 3 #@¤&! turns.

Thank you staff for a great game! One of the most continuously thrilling I've had in a while...

Nooooo! I got beaten by Toller Pretzl by only 6 turns. And instead of recieving the notes I got the lowest scoring award. :(
Well, at least it´s kind of a surprise anyway, because I thought I finished much later.

Congrats to the winners. It was a fun game. Thanks again to the staff. :goodjob:

Hum..1738 vs 1744, isn't that actually... 1 turn

But Lehm, how do you forget in what century you finished ? You must have a very different personality than me ;)

Scarcely much point doing a map this time... :mischief:

The Small Print:
The numbers by each player's name indicate the turn settled on (starting turn is 0). Players are colour coded by game class (challenger=red, adventurer=blue). Symbols indicate victory condition, if there's no symbol then the player either retired or was defeated. The yellow border indicates the land that was visible at the start of the game.

Ah, well, I had a couple of games since I submitted that game and all remembered was that I wasn´t really happy about my finish date so I assumed it was in the 19th century. Now I am even proud of that finish date :) .

And is it really just one turn? Could you agree to a draw and we ask DynamicSpirit if he could split the notes and make us both winner of the cultur award. :D

I would like to again say thanks for such a wonderful game (if i am correct in remembering that this was the team WOTM)... It was a new type of challenge - working out the strongest approach for a team game. I hope I speak for more people in saying I would love to try another GOTM of this type again - maybe the WOTM becomes a forum for new type of challenges of various sorts.

One other idea i would like to see employed once:

I would like to see a true experience of what it is in an unknown world (more similar to reality). What I mean by that is a game with unknown parameters. It seems to me in the games we always know what the world is like and can plan our game around it. ie. world size, number of AIs, climate type, etc... Maybe in one game we can have all unknown parameters (with the exception of game speed and victory conditions). I think again that it might add a different type of challenge, albeit minor.

I dont know if this is really the place for such a suggestion - dont know where else to put it and wanted to just get it out

I seem to fail at actually getting my games submitted recently, I lose, submit, acceptance but then no email, no globals, boo.

Hey its tough in the 100's to 200's page, y'know?

Maybe I have won a adventurer save and now I should not play them, hmmmm?
