Pittsburgh at Baltimore, 8:30 pm RAVENS

I think it'll be Rams-Broncos in the Superbowl, with the Rams winning it all...

@Darkness: If the Broncos could get to the Superbowl, the Rams would beat them. The only reason their in is because they are tough at home and decent on the road. They won't survive the playoffs. Tennessee, Indy or the Pats could all wromp that team and it will be one of those 3, unless they win in Patriot fashion and get some lucky calls. Well in anyone whose not a Pats fan opinion they were lucky. My opinion as a Pats fan is that they were just the best then. And they are this year too.

My picks for the final week of the season:

New England over Buffalo
No contest. Bufflao might as well head home for the holidays.

San Francisco over Seattle
San Francisco is in the business of ruining other teams seasons. Seattle has a bad habit of choking.

Washington over Philadelphia
I don't know why I am making this pick. It is a spontaneous pick and I can't give a good reason because all my guts and calculation tell me otherwise. An upset maybe?

Chicago over Kansas City
Chicago should have started Rex Grossman. He is their best qb. Kansas City is not what their record shows.

Cincinnati over Cleveland
Cincinnati has to win to have a chance for the playoffs.

Dallas over New Orleans
Dallas needs the win to possibly win their division and get a playoff bye. Which Saints will show up? The one that is furious over losing or the one that quits win the end of the season is suddenly obvious.

Indianapolis over Houston
Indy 500 baby.

Atlanta over Jacksonville
Can the Jags catch the M.J. of football? Sure they can. It'll take more than that to win though.

New York Jets over Miami
The Jets are very hot with "the Chad" "the Chad is great."

St. Louis over Detroit
Is this game a joke? Bend over Mooch because the Martz like to see big numbers on the scoreboard and he will score a lot.

Tennessee over Tampa Bay
McNair is either very tough or very dumb. Either way, if he plays a quarter or 2 he will lead his team to victory. The Titans are too good with him.

Carolina over New York Giants
Yeah right. Didn't I say the giants should be renamed the midgets or something?

Minnesota over Arizona
Minnesota is not a great team, but their still better than Arizona.

Green Bay over Denver
Green Bay at home in December? Need I say more?

Oakland over San Diego
If San Diego plays their cards right, they might get a shot at Eli Manning in the draft.

Baltimore over Pittsburgh
Baltimore is better than this and needs a win to make the playoffs.

Kansas City is not what their record shows.

You know.... I keep hearing this, and I DO think that the defense needs a LOT of help...

That said, KC is undefeated at home. KC could play 2 home games in the playoffs (if NE loses on Saturday, or their first playoff game, vs. Denver if Denver (as #6 seed) wins their first game).

Let's not forget..... The Chiefs ARE 12-3!

My prediction? The AFC Championship game comes through Raytown (and yes, I AM biased! :p).

-- From The Cellar :smoke:

P.S. Come to think of it, if Denver IS the #6 seed..... The Chiefs are better off being the number TWO seed.... thereby not having to play the Broncos in the first matchup. Go Bills!! :crazyeye:

Look, in case you didn't know, the Chiefs are 0-3 against playoof teams. You need defense to win a championship, not just offense, as shown in the last Superbowl. And, NE will get homefield throughout the playoffs, because lets face it, Buffalo has no real chance. When NE does get homefield, they will be playing in VERY cold weather down here in Massachusetts. From my computer, I can see about 6 inches of snow outside. And the Pats are 13-2 when it's cold.

It gets cold here in Kansas City and in Denver as well.... :p

Denver is going to be a tough team to beat. Good luck to the Patriots in 2 weeks facing Portis and Plummer....

But for those predicting that Chicago will beat Kansas City, I have this to say..... (lifelong Bears fan, btw)

Chiefs 45, Bears 17

Priest Holmes: 155 rushing yards, 3 TD's.... annihilating Emmit's TD record (which they now both share).

The AFC is CRAZY this year. imho, ANY team could go all the way.... except Indy playing in a cold place..... :D

I gotta defend Denver here.

First off, Denver wromped Indy in Indy 31-17 and were more dominant than the score showed. Second, they dissembled KC an hung 45 points on them. Third, they havnt played Tennessee who is actually hitting a mild slump. Fourth, Denver playing DANNY KANELL almost beat New England and lost because Deltha O'Neil cant field a free safety kick.

Fifth, they have a reliable backfield with Portis, Anderson, and even Griffin. Plummer is playing up to his potential, and the defense is consistant and doesnt give up loads of points.

First round- against Indy

Second Round- against New England

AFC Championship- against KC/Baltimore/Tennessee

I think Denver can beat anyone right now.

@china444, the Saints must be the least clutch team in the NFL ;)

WEEK 17
Saturday, Dec. 27
Buffalo at New England, 1:30 pm
Seattle at San Francisco, 5:15 pm
Philadelphia at Washington, 8:30 pm

Sunday, Dec. 28
Chicago at Kansas City, 1:00 pm
Cleveland at Cincinnati, 1:00 pm
Dallas at New Orleans, 1:00 pm
Indianapolis at Houston, 1:00 pm - This is a greatly biased decision based on wishful thinking, so that Tennessee can have at least 1 playoff game I can go to at home. I really have little faith that Houston can actually win.
Jacksonville at Atlanta, 1:00 pm
N.Y. Jets at Miami, 1:00 pm
St. Louis at Detroit, 1:00 pm
Tampa Bay at Tennessee, 1:00 pm
Carolina at N.Y. Giants, 4:05 pm
Minnesota at Arizona, 4:05 pm
Denver at Green Bay, 4:15 pm
Oakland at San Diego, 4:15 pm
Pittsburgh at Baltimore, 8:30 pm

First off, I'm not saying Denver is bad. They are a very good team. I'm kind of surprised that their record doesn't show their excellent running game, and their good defense. But, just because you have a good defense and offense doesn't mean you'll win your games. I just think NE is better, simply because they haven't lost to a team with a winning record all season.

Denver has the 3rd ranked defense overall, but the most important defensive stat by far is scoring. And NE is second in scoring on defense, and Denver is 6th. NE also of course is on a 11 game winning streak, and I think they will extend that throughout the playoffs.

Mike Shanahan is a good coach, but I simply don't think his offense can handle Belichick's defense.

Syterion, I am a Cowboys fan not a Broncos fan btw ;)

I didnt say they WOULD beat New England, I just said they could. I was challenging tjedges position that Denver wouldnt even challenge in the playoffs. I was displaying that they have a realistic shot at the AFC Championship or SB (unlike the Cowboys :( )

Of course, I also think someone from the NFC will win the superbowl so.....
