For all of you who don't have much of a strategy(all 2 of you), i have one that works pretty well. If this looks too long to read, go to the bottom of the paragraph. The real body of this is whoring out the other civs and to always gain money, even if you're only getting 1 a turn. So if you see that you're losing money, change that in the Domestic Screen by lowering your science or entertainment. First off build a city and get a few warriors and spearmen to search out the land. While they're off hunting, make a setter and start a new city. When your explorers have found a new civ, talk to them. Find out how many cities they have by looking in the trading menus(yes, it's cheap, but oh well). If it's lower than 5, build up your army and move on in. Otherwise, deal with them later. About now, it should be around 1000-100 BC and you should have about 5 or 6 cities. Once you research Map Making, talk to all the civs and ask for their maps, but only give them your hard-earned gold. And, when you get more moolah, ask for thier techs but only offer gold. Then, when you have a big army, start a war with someone, and take one or two cities. Talk to that civ and they will be scared and offer almost anything to end the war, so it's time to whore out your friends. Get as much as possible out of the deal, then the best step comes. REPEAT.
Sorry, I don't feel like making it shorter, go back and real the whole thing again.
