NinNES II: World Creation and Sign-Ups

For a background of the general idea (and how I got here) see this thread.

Obviously, not a whole lot. However, we have decided that "Earth Creation" will be a central part of the opening. We also determined the overall setting as well, thus I can begin this.



This is the world. It is wet.

There is a large, yet empty and barren island in it.

It is here you find yourself. You, along with your other fellows from the other world. The other time. The other place. You were all exiled. All cast out. But now, now you are all that is left of your old race. And here is a chance to start anew. You may create something great. You may create something terrible, or benevolent. It is all up to you.

Note: For everyone who is wondering, this NES will be stat-based and not story-based long term. The opening stages are more story-based by necessity. Also, comments or ideas on the more stat-based side are are welcome, as that stage is still under construction.

Appearance: The Boy (A young boy of about 8, holding a toy sword, with a quill tucked either into his hat or his belt, and with an innocent look), the Warrior (A strong young man, Clad in shinning Golden Armor, with a sword and a shield with a golden symbol of a Quill), the Wiseman (An elderly statesman, robed, wise and bent with years. A long white beard and long white hair. He has a sword strapped to his belt, and, despite it's age, is still well maintained. He usually has a quill in his belt.)

Bio: Gerold was once one of the greatest warriors of the other place. He suspects it is partially his impetuousness and pride that had them cast out from there, and has since resolved to redeem himself for his hubris. Over the years, he has acquired such wisdom as to be inconceivable to the minds of many others.

Appearance: A dark foggy being. Underneath it is just a pitch black body that can change form, with 2 blue eyes (red when angry).

Bio: The Amon is a being that has always existed. Since before existence itself was. When the world appeared the Amon felt great pain and have formed an opinion - the need to stop all existence. Since then he has been trying to build up support among believes and other gods behind a false character he created of himself, to gain power and bring everything back to the good old times, bless the sky.

Appearance: A well groomed young man in most cases, he has sea foam green (when happy) or gray eyes (when sad). He has a stormy temper, and can turn from pleasant and young to furious, bearded 40 year old in an instant. He often can be found gambling or playing a card game, and he loves hanging out with his godly friends. Although usually boisterous, he has times when he is sad and merely stares out to sea. Andmare is a man of opposites, and he likes it that way.

Bio: One of the original gods of the Other Place, Andmare was well liked. So well liked, in fact, that the wife of the God-King grew jealous. She told the God-King that Andmare had thrown himself upon her, and he was cast out. Andmare of course did not do such a thing, but his words did little to stifle the God-King's fury.

Appearance: Slim and Agile at average height, Trajan's eyes change color depending on his environment, and he keeps a military like buzz cut.

Bio: A rather young God or otherworldly being, Trajan was cast out for his pride and his overwhelming love of frequent natural disasters involving magic, especially his most recent tsunami which wreaked havoc. Since being cast out he has learned some restraint, but not much, and has begun to dabble in inventions and has taken to taking promising invention minded people under his wing. Figuratively.

Appearance: His physical appearance changes at will and is never constant, but his clothing never changes: a coat made of leaves, with living ones on the left and dead ones on the right.

Bio: Attaris is a god revered by doctors, the one prayed to whenever a loved one is sick. However, he is also a god to be feared, as he can win wars not with soldiers, but with plague, making his enemies too weak to resist. He is also respected by those who use herbs for otherwordly experiences (for religion or recreation), assassins who prefer to work without blood, and has a weak influence over alcohol. If a war were to develop between good and evil gods, Attaris would choose his side based on personal reasons, and is never reliably good nor evil.

(TerrisH) Shen Kor, F

Appearance: a young child, born of the world, with green hair and golden eyes. her face and size change each year, reflecting the ever shifting flow of life through the world.

Bio: Mother of all sprites, daughter of the world. she was born after Attaris introduced a large quantity of life into the world (the jungle) and occasionally refers to him as her father (strangely enough, she also refers to Amon as her father, though less often). Shen is an eternal child, blessed with a simple outlook, intent to see the world flourish, and to insure that life is never outbalanced by death, or death by life. that both should exist in equality, to preserve their everlasting flow through the world itself.

(Bair_the_Normal) Aki, M

Appearance: Aki is the perfectly average being. If one were to put him in a crowd, he would not stand out, except for one crucial feature of himself. His left eye is black, and the right one white, so as to strive for the balance that he so desires.

Bio: Aki is the premier god of balance and judgment. With his all-seeing eyes, he judges the world, and makes one crucial decision for every degree of inequality he sees. He refrains from speaking much, and believes that there is no such thing as a perfect world, but nonetheless, he still strives for such. Aki, due to his constant neutrality and goal of perfect balance, was notably not kicked out of the Old Place, but rather followed those who were exiled in order to institute balance among the cast-outs.

(Patchy) Ka'Tun Ra, M/F

Appearance: Ka'Tun Ra, when in the persona of the sun, appears as a tall man glowing so brightly that it is impossible to look at him directly. When in the persona of the seasons Ka'Tun Ra turns into a tall woman with green hair and one arm made of wood.

Bio: With the creation of the world came the birth of Ka'Tun Ra, suddenly there was a need for a controller of the sun and seasons. Ka'Tun Ra rose to take that position, originally twins they joined into one being to quickly ascend to god hood.

Psyche would be the control and manipulation of the mind itself. Commanding and influencing through mind control and subliminal messaging.

Illusion is the manipulation of how things are perceived. Lighting and shadow, as well as memory altering.

--- The Beginning ---

The people of that realm. The unknown, lost people. They existed still. It was surprising to the Great One. Creator of all, the one that gave existence to this world, and to theirs. They had manipulated the fabric of time, the fabric of space. They had cut a hole through it, and slipped into this dimension. Precious few of them, but they existed nevertheless. Perhaps... perhaps they should be given the task.

The Great One grew weary. He had created numerous worlds before, numerous peoples, and a untold amount of potential had existed. Always the same. Just when their ascension seemed possible, their inner nature destroyed them. Greed. Corruption. Pride. They felt like they were entitled to the world in which they lived, and that they had more than earned it. However, this was the first time that the godly "reset" button had not quite worked as intended. With the rest of their race gone, only a small group of survivors, from every caste, form every corner of their society, these few remained.

What to do with them?

To do anything at all?

In this universe, their powers would enable them to be gods themselves. They could create. They could destroy. It was a second chance for them, and possibly a chance for a new race altogether. The Great One withdrew then. Spectating this event would be a welcome rest for him, and the potential applications were innumerable. Let the show...begin.

As this stage of the NES allows for people to quickly and easily join, I am starting this already. You all are stranded on the huge, vast expanse of the island. Calling it that is almost incorrect, given it is about the size of Australia. You all have power to create. Power to fuel a new world. What will you put in it? Feel free to post, VM, or PM orders, or even issue them via stories. The world is empty, the purpose of this thread is to fix that problem.

A sidenote: Remember that this world will be fast-forwarded (with player input) to our equivalent of 1400 A.D. or so once the creation stage is over. Planting things in the world now for effects later could very well be a good idea.

Andmare examined the world around him. For a moment he absorbed it all, then he took a step. It felt odd. He took another. It felt odd as well. He couldn't quite compare it to anything else. Then he remembered the feeling he got when he was beaing everyone in a card game, moving them like chess pieces. His steps seemed powerful.

He looked around to make sure no one was watching. No on was. He thrust his arm upwards, and as he did the ground rose slightly. He thust it down, and a depression formed. He shrugged, confounded. He took a step forwaard, concentrated, and thrust upwards as fast as he could. The terrain tore itself loose and skyrocketed. He smiled. He could get used to this.

OOC: I'm assuming we all have some terraforming powers. I will create my realm later.
