Nice to see you have a thread now! I'd better get working on that last icon, and finish the Leaderscreen.

I really, really like the idea of the unique great works of writing causing perma resistance until peace or recapture. That's a great way of representing stirring up the inhabitants of the city. At least, I assume that's the intention?

(On an unrelated note, you may want to remove the bit under the civ icon, I'm not sure the mods would be too pleased)

No rush, this probably won't be out within a month. :p

    That is the intention.

You should probably remove that little bit below the icon, because you know?

Nationalism is always a high priority when it comes to civ, so I understand your wish to add Slovakia. :p

Don't know if I'll suggest designs, though, since I'm lazy and barely know anything about Slovakia's history.

(also nice text under the icon)

    Done, just for you :)

I explained all you need to know about the part of Slovakia's history which I wish to represent.

    what text

I still feel like I have to have a firm grasp of a country's history to be able to create designs for it, or at least a firmer grasp than what I get from just reading that short paragraph. :p

Possible additions to the UA/UUs - I'm just theorizing, really:

    - During Wars, Defensive buildings generate +1 Great Writer points and +2 Golden Age points.

    - The Spisovatel's Great Works should provide extra defensive strength as well as HP to the city they're in.

    - The Drobovolnik should gain a plain old combat strength boost in friendly lands.

Essentially, a Civ with two major (Great Writers and Defense) and one minor (Golden Ages) objectives. I think it's good but then again that's just me.

I like these ideas, I've been thinking about some of them myself.

Wow. The great writer unit's name is identical to Russian(Slavic languages I guess).

it was also partially due to having nothing else to name the unit.
But yes, spisovateľ means writer in Slovak.

So, uh, would anybody be willing to help me find a civ icon for the Modern Czech Republic that isn't the double-tailed Bohemian Lion?

You know, for no particular reason.

How about TWO double-tailed Bohemian Lions?

    no?

    ...

    I'll keep looking then.

Maybe something like this? (Lion fused with Eagle) Colours are random

"Spisovatel" is not a writer in Russian. "Spisyvatel" is someone who cheats on the exam.
