No in-game music on Win 10?

Hi all,

First time on the forum! I'm generally pretty savvy with this sort of thing, but I'm lost on this one. I recently purchased Civ 4 on Steam. I've played a bit and it looks super fun, only all music ceases to play as soon as the game starts (after "you must build a civ to stand the test of time"). I have tried comparability modes galore, running as admin, and checking if the files were present (which they were). Any ideas? I'd rather not play with no music, as the title theme is an indicator of some good stuff.

Thanks!

Look at the options screen to be sure that sound is turned on for the game itself, not just the intro. There are several options to turn different sounds off or on. That may not be your problem but I would start there.

Wow... I'm sorry for even making this thread, everyone. It turns out that the music was just very quiet and I mistook the opening song for ambiance. My bad. Thanks for replying!

Did you do any re-jigging to get Civ 4 Steam version working on your your Windows 10 PC, if so, what did you do?
