No more OCC?

Hey,
did you delete the OCC option in V29 (vanilla)? I looked 4 times but couldn't find it. But I don't remember that I saw it on the SVN, so is this a mistake?
Looks like it got made invisible.
Open Assets\XML\GameInfo\CIV4GameOptionInfos.xml and look for GAMEOPTION_ONE_CITY_CHALLENGE.
Change <bVisible>0</bVisible> from 0 to 1 and it should be visible again.

@Faustmouse,
Yes OCC was disabled for v29 after some discussion by the Modding Team.

Simply trying to cut down on the amount of options in the list in an effort to reduce the amount of time and effort required to setup a game, and in so doing, trying to determine which ones few if any players ever use. OCC seems somewhat superflous as nearly the same thing can be achieved with a duel or small sized map, and there's elements of C2C, such as common building prerequisites, that don't play well with the option by nature of its design.

Hmmm ok, good points. However, I like OCC Games because they are much faster (in turntimes) than normal games. Right now I'm in the early industrial age on a GEM with 4 Civs (two stuck in classic, one in late medival) and I have turntimes over 15 min (2.8 GHz Quadcore).

If you want to get rid of Options, what about agressive and ruthless AI?

True those don't work too well for the AI's sake but there's a lot of players that appreciate them.

If turn times are an issue, try playing a game in direct ip as the only human player. The simultaneous turn nature of the game lets the ai do a lot of its thinking while you're taking your turn, which is the lions share of the between turn delay. There could be a few undiscovered bugs lurking there still - we've run up against one difficult one. But most of the time, my wife's games on this setting work quite well and streamline the turn times problem very nicely.

Additionally, tweaking the gameoptionsinfos.xml file in the Assets/XML directory to make the option either visible so you can set it or simply on by default will enable you to play an OCC game still... it hasn't been removed just made invisible at game setup to help reduce the option clutter.
