Hello, all.

Thought I should mention that I finally (after years of postponements) have started my AI vs AI, Head-to-Head Civ IV league today.

All info you need is in this video on my YouTube channel:

First game is live in a minute. Two games each day for 13 days straight. Then a one week break in videos, in order to finish up the second round of fixtures before releasing them on YouTube.

I hope the "chapters" feature works. I've tried to make it easy for you all to skip to the parts of the videos you are interested in. No need to watch the whole thing if all you want is the World History Replay or the Spoilers.

Happy Civving!

That was a fun watch- thank you. Really like the enthusiasm of your commentary, and yes, the chapters feature is very helpful. Was also interesting to see Toku take a turn to move his starting settler to a better spot on T0 as I didn't thing the AI normally does this.

Would you consider balancing out the starting resources, or are you happy with luck of the draw? Louis v Bismarck did seem a little unfair in terms of start resources.

Also

Spoiler :
Go Monty!

Regarding balancing, I felt rather bad about poor Ramsy who had all of his resources covered with jungle, vs Rosey with enough fish to start his own sushi-bar.

I forgot about that one- might explain how roos managed to impersonate an imperialistic leader all game. Game did almost seem decided before it started.

@Kjotleik any chance of seeing the victory conditions screen (F8 or F9, I forget) for Meh vs Nap? That must have been close.

@Kjotleik
I don't think I have ever seen a start in any game I have ever played when the AI (or me) have had jungled tiles in the starting positions BFC.
How come there is jungled tiles in so many of the games?
It really slows the AI down the first 100-150 turns when they have a capital filled with jungle and no resources to improve early on.

I am not going to spend the time balancing out starting resources. If everything is balanced I think the tables will not be much different in Season 2 than in Season 1.

I will have to see if I can find it (have to re-load an autosave from the last turn of the game and then go to the screen - I didn't record it "live"). But it will have to wait until the weekend. I've had some computer problems this Easter (hence, the late reply to this thread).

It is probably down to the mapscript. I'm using Totestra (which you can find in the mapscript section of these forums).
