Does the Rate of Fire(ROF) affect normal attacks? This possibility had not occured to me until today. That would be awesome if it could.

Also, does ROF affect defensive bombard?

Afaik it does not affect normal attack, but it affect defencive bombard:)

They were discussing it in the Conquests forum, and they said the opposite. I wish I could check.

And you can only view the C&C forum at work, yeah right:lol:

Just bombard-attacks. Normal attacks are always fought till the death of one combattant. RoF is the number of bombardment-attacks per bombardment, each of which is calculated seperately. If all the attacks are successful, the target loses as many HP as the RoF.

Defensive bombardment does only one attack, no matter what the RoF is. So for units which only have defensive bombard (Range 0) a RoF of more than 1 doesn't have any effect.

Der PH thats funny because Im sure I have seen a unit loose more than one hitpoint due to defencive bombardment, but it must be my imagination:ack:

If this is true, then it's new in Conquests. For PTW I'm sure that it was one shot maximum. I'm currently playing my first Conquests game in the Industrial Age, where RoF2-units appear, but by now I didn't recognize any difference in defensive bombardment compared to PTW.
