Hi Gang,

Geez I haven't been here in seems like 20 years. (New account now)

I just bought Gathering Storm. I'm interested in adding mods for new leaders and civs. Maybe some wonders.

My question is: Should I only download mods on the Steam workshop that specifically require GS, or are others compatible as well?

The only mods I have been using so far are and Atlantis CIV and a "Remove District" mod.

Bonus Question: I see a bunch of mods with the prefix RwF: , but I can't figure out what that means. Google wasn't helpful.

Thanks, Civvers!

You can download any mod you wish, just go to the additional content page before starting a game. There you will see all your downloaded mods. If they are incompatible with the GS expansion there will be a warning in red letters just deselect these, or if none are selected select those you want that are compatible.
I am certain that the RwF is for mods for the Rise and Fall expansion ( are you sure it wasn't R&F?). These may or may not be compatible with GS.

To be on the safe side only subscribe to mods that have been updated since GS has been released - after 2/14 - even if they don't specifically require GS. It's possible some may not work correctly, however, if they haven't been updated for the most recent patch - June 2019 Update on 6/18. It's always a good idea to read the most recent comments, look at the mod's Change Notes, & last date Updated to gauge compatibility and functionality.

RwF = Rule with Faith. It's JFD's overhaul mod that's slowly being updated for the latest patch as separate modular components rather than as a single large mod. Keep in mind though that some of those components require each other in order to function properly - See individual Steam pages.

Thank you, Laurana. I'm enjoying the game and I currently do get some crashes, but not too bad. I will police my mods for the update date. I appreciate your input. I just like lots of different Civs and Leaders in the pool.

A bit of promotion for my friends, but any of the Civs/Leaders from the CIVITAS group are excellent and well maintained. Also, anything from Sukritact is high quality as well.
