Noob question... how to play downloaded saves

I've been looking through the GOTM resources and can't figure out how to make a downloaded save work.

I moved the file into the "saves" folder under conquests (its a COTM), but when i open the game it is not to be found.

I'm playing on windows 8, with the steam version of "complete".

Never mind, figured out my problem. Was copying the files as shortcuts before moving to saves folder, fixed my issue.
