MODERATORS- PLEASE MAKE THIS STICKY!!!

OK listen up:

TheDuckOfFlanders has come up with a cool plan- This is now in action and I have already done the polls for my career.

The military Advisor Makes 2 polls during his career, the first is entirely neccesary.

1. How many units to put in each city for defense, which includes offensive units assigned sentry.

2. How many units to put in the offensive capabilities of the military.

GOVERNORS- Here is your responsibilities for this-

The first poll- You must make these units during your carreer, or else. But if it is a new city, exceptions will be made.

The second- These units must be built as well, but if it is Peacetime you will rarely have to do this. If it is war, you must build these units somewhat quickly.

MILITARY ADVISOR- You will choose which Provinces to build units in, those Governors must build those units.

A governor does NOT make a poll for WHAT unit to build, it just builds it. Once the unit is built, the governor can choose to make something else with a poll, or make another assigned unit. Though you can build city imporvements before the assigned units, you cannot built units that arent the unit ordered, unless your assigned units are complete.

If you don't understand, tell me waht part.

Sounds good. The Military Advisor should make his polls not only about the number of units, but also what sort of units. Like you did, Ohwell, in you polls about city defenses and expeditionary force. :)

This sounds like fun...So now every city has to be the same does it? Border cities need more defenders especially if we partly take over the Roman island...And also the polls are likely to give the same results of having two or three defenders with around 2 offensive units attached to each city...

Finally I do not see the point. If people want to see more defenders in a city then they will vote on polls for them to built. Why do we have to mess up the current system or is this just because Ohwell wants to have more power?

I am really happy about this idea...

Umm... I don't remember a vote that would provide an amendment to the constitution that allows the military advisor to require a unilateral military presence in all of our cities.

I'm with Dell on this. A sweeping policy like this takes into account NOTHING about the location of cities and their individual needs.

I think that it's totally unnecessary.

I can see if there is a dire national emergency where we are attacking or being attacked in great numbers whereby the military advisor could post POLLS about overriding some city production for the sake of military. Similar to the president overriding for the National Wonder Building concern.

I think that to assume that this is a good idea and to implement this so quickly is very premature.

Uh, I am just trying to find something to do... it is JUST A MINIMUM, something to follow so no city is underdefended. Cities that need more protection will be dealt with accordingly. If you don't like it, that is fine. You don't have to, but I do. If you agree, thats great.

I am NOT power-hungry, I feel that my job is too easy with the old system and I have very little to do.

I do believe Cornmaster sent some PM's around with some polls to vote on... that is the poll.

Perhaps instead of me making a poll, there would just be a flat-out minimum, like 1 unit. Absurd, but with merit. You birng up interesting points, as does Kev, and I do agree. The first poll is not neccesary, forget it. But I stick by the first.

Hey, these weren't my ideas, they were TheDuckOfFlanders Ideas.

I think that the Military Advisor should confer with the governor so that the governor can raise any objections he/she may have.
