NOTW Information Thread

Actually, I just had what I think is a brilliant idea. It looks like the NOTW-business is attracting streams of new people, so the games will probably be rather huge and rather long - like Renata's is proving to be.

I intend to host a mini-notw rather soon (meaning probably starting signups in a couple of days), where I'll limit the amount of players allowed - it won't go above 20, max. I already have some ideas for the themes, they will be inspired by the Fall From Heaven II mod, knowing some basic lore might be a good idea but won't be necessary, and I plan to run atleast the first few myself.

I'll begin designing the first one immidiately!

Hmm i dunno if it is a good idea to start one before the other one is finished though... Also i think you should wait in line. I have no idea how many people thomas games is planned for...

I'm just posting the idea here to attract attention to the project. I think, if I can manage to both be active in a NOTW and be running another, there might be 10-12 people who had time enough to participate in two NOTWs. But your feedback is welcome. As I said, I am not trying to "steal" attention from the next people on the lists NOTWs, merely provide a small "side order" for those who have the time and commitment.

I think it's a good idea. What about giving players that aren't participating in the other NOTW a priority?

Also, players have to be carefull not mix the games up, with sending PM's and such.

After seeing a couple of replies and talking to some people on messenger, I think it'd be best if the mini-notws were only for people not participating in the "main notw"... Barring me as GM in this case, ofc.

Would that be cool with everyone?

Sounds interesting. I've been toying with the idea of a notw-style game with a much more detailed plot line involving a small number of players (10 at the absolute max), which could be run in a similiar way, along side a ''main'' one/

Okay, glad someone supports the idea :) It happens so that I have found a title for the first game:
Mini-NOTW I: "To kill a mockingbird"

The signup will contain background story and will probably be up in a couple of days. I suspect there will be room for 12-14 people, and unless we can't find those 12-14 among the people not in the current NOTW, it will be restricted to people who are not playing (or are dead) in Renata's game.

I think considering how quickly this filled, shows there is room for several to run at the same time.

Back in my day, we ran NotW games very close together. The signup thread VII started as soon as VI's game thread went up, and the game thread for VII started as soon as VI ended. As for running two at the same time, though, I'm not so much a fan of that. Two broadly mafia-themed games at the same time would be fine (we did it with NotW and S&F), but I think it'd be best if they were always in very different settings (or with different sets of players), to avoid confusion.

Few who have run a NotW have run one a second time.. why is this?
