Mostly because you realize how much work is involved. But I think all of us are actually thinking about what the next game will look like... :mischief:

thomas is the paragon though, this upcoming game is his third (or is it fourth even?).

5th, maybe, actually... I ran # 4, back in the day, too...

Few who have run a NotW have run one a second time.. why is this?

It is because we are all too busy drawing pictures

I suppose some people host because they have an idea that they want to try out, and once they've used that idea, they have no desire to host another one. Also what Niklas said about time commitment - the one I hosted was relatively simple, mechanics-wise, and it still took over about a month of my life. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to host a really complicated one like Renata's, or Pinman's hyper-complex NotW XIX.

And bear in mind that many of the hosts on that list have either lost interest in NotW or disappeared from the forums altogether.

Ptsh, fine, drawing NAO.

I guess it's a tradition for each main member of the community to run at least one NOTW at some point. Some people run more then one, but they don't because they don't usually need to, there's always someone else running one.

Out of interest, why do you keep interfering with NOTW and how we work when you never actually play?

I found it exhausting, though rewarding. Though exhausting. I won't do it again unless I somehow dream up a way to make a really evil game mechanic that's in my head actually work.

Your NOTW was a great success, I regretted having to drop out. I can't believe how long it was.

I have been thinking of running a NotW for some time now, but unfortunately, I know very little about FFH. I could attempt to learn the setting but first I want to see how everyone would react to another non-FFH one. So would you all mind another non-FFH NotW?

Yeah, Backwards Logic's game didn't suffer at all from not being FfH, despite Ekolite's protests. :p

Frozen in ice: Just get in line :). Abaddon you could try to play in some notws you know. That might give you some ideas.

Yes, Ekolite, can you go ahead and put me up for NotW 31? I don't have a name for it yet, I should have one soon though.

If I find the time, I will try to work on NotW : Armageddon during the holidays (2 weeks, starting this friday). If I lack either time or inspiration, then feel free to put me back to the end of the queue.

Well I'm not really counted as a main member am I? I was excited when I was reconized when I came back
Even if I do become a major member of the forums like my buddy Chand, I'll leave the NotW hosting to the pros and just be your loyal test subject everytime! :yumyum:

I'm happy to say that while planning out Mini-NOTW II, I was overwhelmed with ideas, so it will not be quite so "mini", actually. So, anyway, I was thinking of being a gentleman and actually get in line with (obviously I'll have to come up with another setting for MNOTW II, then) this one:

NOTW: A Desperate Prayer
It will be innovative, but I must also admit that I am *borrowing* some inspiration from Backwards Logic's Road To Ruin game, which I lurked with great interest (and which was an epic game!). There might also be *faint tracks* of NOTW XXIII. But it will in no way be a copy of either, of course.

The games are supposed to be a surprise :p. Tell us your inspiration after the game, not before it ;).

Some of it will be obvious, mainly the "tie up"-mechanic... But don't worry, it's far from done yet, so what I say now is not to be trusted anyway :mischief:
