I have tested to set the nuclear missiles movement to 1 and make so that they can paradroop (by editing the rules.txt). One bad thin Thu is that you can't attack ships in seas.

What do you think about this solution?
I think this is better than how it is now.

I don't understand how this would be better than it is now? What exactly is the problem with the way nukes work currently in Civ II?

Hakan's idea won't address the pollution problem at all, not that I think the pollution IS a problem--represents the down side to using Nukes, whether we're talking about real life, or balanced game play.

I don't see how making a nuke into a paratrooper improves anything. If you don't like the pollution then don't use them. There is a price to pay for nuclear activity.Enviromental destruction.

My idea with making a nuke into a paratrooper was that you could send a nuclear missile behind the enemy lines.

But hey it's just an idea!

    I don't think I'm following you.

Nukes have 16 range, paradrops are 10 squares. So,a nuke can go deeper into enemy territory than a paratrooper. Not to mention subs, carriers or airbases.
Or the end turn keyboard shortcut that keeps missiles and planes aloft indefinitely.

I still dont' think its a good idea but it is if your opponent has a large wall of units you can't get around

nukes suk because they only eliminate 1/2 of the population of a city: 10 citizens to 5 citizens, 5 citizens to 3 citizens, etc. YOu can't even destroy a city completely! (plus the pollution)

AFter the nuke goes off, people should still die from the radiation. YOu should be able to improve nukes, like first, it's an atomic bomb, then it's a nuclear bomb, then a nuclear missle.
