Nuke in FfH?

Actual nukes would be silly, of course.

But some massive spell that has a nuke-esque effect, would be very nice.

Arcane Annhilation !

there should be no fallout, global warming or huge line of text at the top of the screen.

The nuke effect of a massive explosion does not mean that mages found Uranium and smashed it together with explosives. I agree with Warkirby and Cyther. A massive burst of magic energy could cause a mushroom type cloud (as all big explosions do) and damage whole cities. I like the idea ... except stop global warming and fallout - maybe it could randomly spawn barbarian elementals instead, and I think the mages should be close to the place they cast, not halfway around the world.

As for your Amurite + mod, I think all civs should be able to do channeling rituals, but just make it easier and faster for Amurites - then you could add different types of protection rituals that protects cities/tiles from massive spells.

The only places I can thing of that could maybe use the art would be to:

Change it to a green tint and use it at AC 30 on all cities
Keep the color and use it at AC 100 on all cities

Both of these events cause massive collateral damage in one form or another.

No ... just, why? I don't think the art for nukes needs to be used no matter what happens, yet the animation could be used for a giant meteor ... hmmm

I like the idea of a late game city-wrecking ritual. Maybe make it not kill heroes somehow?

Flavour wise it makes sense... you get all the top elders to sit around chanting, calling down destruction upon a certain city...

as long as it's Guaranteed not to kill unique units and global warming is removed, I approve of a repeatable ritual that allows a one time nuke effect on a target, plus a significant increase in the Armageddon counter. Related to Bhall?

Which isn´t balanced at all. Now the attacked side has to have some magic shield ritual or building to protect it´s cities.

Plus I don´t even want to wonder how to teach the AI to use both things.

Why does it need to be balanced? An expensive enough ritual that screws over a single city... done. Making a way to block it is pointless.

I support this idea, along with giant transforming combining robots and, of course, catgirls.

Wrong genre. You're looking more for something like:

Tasogare yori mo kuraki mono / chi no nagare yori akaki mono / toki no nagare ni uzumore shi / idai na nanji no na ni oite / ware, koko ni yami ni chikawan / warera ga mae ni tachi fusagari shi / subete no oroka naru mono ni / ware to nanji ga chikara mote / hitoshiku horobi o ataen koto o! DRAGU SLAVE!

Or, in English:
Darkness from twilight, crimson from blood that flows; buried in the flow of time; in Thy great name, I pledge myself to darkness! Those who oppose us shall be destroyed by the power you and I possess! DRAGU SLAVE!

Though unless The One is also known as The Lord of Nightmares, this probably won't work out. Even if Kael manages to get Megumi Hayashibara to provide the voice. ;)

Spoiler :

(Can't have Os'Gabella trying to cast Giga Slave, either. Though it might have the same results that Hellmaster Fibrizo ran into in Slayers Next...)

No, The Lord of Nightmares in Erebus is Hastur.

Well, the Lord of Nightmares (aka L-sama) in Slayers isn't actually one who handles nightmares, she's (tends to appear as a golden woman) just called that by others. She falls sort of in the same place The One does in FFH lore, e.g, creator of the universe, and tends to stay uninvolved. Lack of interference is considered a good thing because everytime L-sama is involved directly there's a chance she'll pretty much un-make the Slayers universe.

So... anyway there's a "magic tactical nuke" sort of spell from this anime series. Sorry if I got off on a tangent.

(Oh great, now I'm tempted to suggest a Balor that wanders the realms in human form who seems to always be smiling and answers probing questions with "Sore wa himitsu desu" so stop me before I send things even further off on another screaming tangent.)
